Calling in for Work, or How Olimario Learned to Kill Kids

How often do you do it? For what reasons? I've noticed a lot of people can call in for the smallest thing and show up the next day expecting people to understand. Are they just stupid like Olimario who wants kids to face death penalty?

What are some of the funniest or lamest reasons youve called in for, or do you at all?
 
I save my sick days for when I want to play video games
 
But HOW do you call in sick for that? Do you fake a sick voice or what. I couldnt ever do that, I have this whole guilt factor thing. I need to ditch that.
 
I called in because I just didn't want to go to work several times.
I also have called in because I wanted to go to the zoo.

If I had any respect for my job and my boss, I wouldn't call in for such. But I work at an adult Reading Rainbow.
 
always someone close to me has died (sadly this works the best but it can only work some many times before someone wonders if you are cursed or killing your friends and family)... or I do it right when I wake up that way I do sound like shit
 
I've 3-wayed my work and had my friend pose as me and tell them that my grandmother died. And they bought it. Good times.
 
Kids? I want to see the minors who are psychology mature and who murder to face the death penalty.
I'm willing to take a back seat to my death penalty stance as long as they are least given life in prison for their crime(s), though I still approve of most cases where the death penality is issued.
 
Ah the right when you wake up phone call haha. I got a call yesterday from an employee, said he 'must have eaten something bad'

YOU arent even psychologically mature, but youre allowed to run around and participate in life! Who knows when you'll snap? I certainlly dont wanna be around for that.

Only when I'm actually sick, like this week. Went to the doctor, he gave me the usual check-up, gave me antibiotics and cough medicine and a note excusing me from work for the rest of the week. Unfortunately, I still have to give my junior recital tomorrow night...
 
I never call in sick. However I have woke up with about 2 seconds to get into work, which is I-don't-know-how-many-miles away. Then I call and pretend a train has bust, or I've shit myself... something like that.

And not to change the subject - but there should probably be no death penalty period, but in a culture where for some, owning a gun is your perogative, then maybe its a good deterrant. Thing is, you shouldn't be able to convict a person one year into legal adulthood and put him to death, but not do the same for someone a year younger. It fucking stinks. There shouldn't be some kind of magic year where you become responsible. If you knew what you were doing, and its beyond reasonable doubt, you're as guilty as any similar fellon of any given age.

This puts out a message akin to: if you wanna see the world, do it while you're young. If you wanna commit murder, do it while you're young.
 
I've been working in the kitchen at a nursing home for about 2 and a half years and haven't called off yet. I've been sick a few times, but I got people to switch with me the day or so before so it didn't count as a call off.

But yeah, I can't just "call off" work for no reason. Too much guilt.

How do you know they are able to be helped? What assurance do you have that they won't simply manipulate the system, act cured, get released, and kill again?
Once case of that is enough for us to play it safe and keep them in prison for life.
 
I went to work sick for the past 6 days. I find it comforting that others may now share my illness. Strength in numbers! Work as a team to battle this cold!
 
The media are hailing it as a victory for humanitarianism because so many lives will be saved.

Lives of murderers and other scum though.

From my point of view, the death penalty doesn't solve anything except crowded prisons. Real criminals should face a life of torment in a cell if their crimes deserve it.

What we're talking about here is a criterion for whether they live or die.

Its a social injustice. Responsibility, intelligence and the common good don't magically come or go with age. There's no dateline you can cross that makes killing less evil. So why treat ALL minors as though they have a greater right to life? If the death penalty is to be administered at all, it should be on a case by case basis, where all evil fucks get what they deserve and those who need help or can be reformed - are spared.

olimario: we can go round and round with this forever because if thousands of others couldnt figure it out we cant. However I do know you want kids killed, so thats enough reason to approach you as a different person from now on.
 
I am a salaried employee, and I use all my PTO any way I damn well please. I don't have to come up with some elaborate story or justify my absence, I just email my first and second line managers saying that I'm taking PTO. It's none of their damn business why.

I wonder if the executioner at the death row for kids called in sick a lot. I guess we'll never get the answer to that one.

I used to have a real job that I never called in sick for, even when I was kinda sick. But the job I had during school, I would call in whenever I felt like it. That's mostly because my bosses were really apathetic in a cool sort of way. They didn't care and neither did I. It was the perfect job.

Nyah it's pretty much what SLO said.. we get our paid time off and then an additional week for "sick time" but it's all just listed as paid time off, so when I'm not coming in I just call and say hey I'm not feeling well, and I'm not coming in.

Me and my boss actually work together so we have a really cool relationship so we don't have to fake sore throats or anything... when he's not coming in he does me the same, just leaves a msg... hey Darien I'm not feeling to well today so I won't be in.... whatever.

Like I said, the fact that it has happened before is enough reason not to chance it and try it again.

That is exactly what I thought when I took a half day off a couple of weeks ago to play Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.

It might sound corny, but I don't like making more work for the others working there, so I feel as if I'm letting them down, and the residents that stay in the nursing home as well. They need me to make their desserts. :lol

I'm just looking out for the lives of innocents. I don't want somebody who has murdered in the past to be released. The fact that they have done it before means they have the capacity to do it again and that's not a risk I want to take.

Rehibilitate them, but don't release them.

Murder should result in either life in prison or death by execution. Those people should not have any freedom returned to them because they took the life and freedom of an innocent person.
 
I think if it were possible for me to hate someone on the internet, it would be him. He honestly stands for everything I hate in people.
 
WHY DO YOU WANT TO RUN THE RISK OF RELEASING SOMEBODY WHO HAS MURDERED BEFORE?
Why is it wrong that I hold the view they never be released?
 
NZ gets between 5-10 sick leave days a year for full time employees most of the time. It's my entitlement and I use it.

25 years is a long time to change... people change. I used to be a dealer, and a thief... even have fired weapons at people, but now I am a teacher...Now I have a purpose in life bigger than I could ever have thought when I was 19 and doing all that crap. Not that I ever killed anyone, but damn people do change....

Not that I really want to get involved in this, but you know olimario, people can, and often do, make mistakes. I hear it's even possible to learn from them.

Just make a plan for 3 days of gaming in April... tell your boss, I am going out of town or I have someone coming to visit me and I need to be there for them (PS2 games...)
