"Can a Cat Be Both a Solid and a Liquid" wins Noble Prize

The 2017 Ig Nobel Prize in physics to be exact

The Ig Nobel Prize is a parody of the Nobel Prize, which is awarded every autumn to celebrate ten unusual or trivial achievements in scientific research(Wiki)

The 27th First Annual Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony introduced ten new Ig Nobel Prize winners - Each has done something that makes people laugh then think.
Winners traveled to the ceremony, at their own expense, from around the world to receive their prize from a group of genuine, genuinely bemused Nobel Laureates, in Harvard's historic and largest theater

PHYSICS PRIZE [FRANCE, SINGAPORE, USA] — Marc-Antoine Fardin, for using fluid dynamics to probe the question "Can a Cat Be Both a Solid and a Liquid?"
REFERENCE: "On the Rheology of Cats," Marc-Antoine Fardin, Rheology Bulletin, vol. 83, 2, July 2014, pp. 16-17 and 30.
WHO ATTENDED THE CEREMONY: Marc-Antoine Fardin

PEACE PRIZE [SWITZERLAND, CANADA, THE NETHERLANDS, USA] — Milo Puhan, Alex Suarez, Christian Lo Cascio, Alfred Zahn, Markus Heitz, and Otto Braendli, for demonstrating that regular playing of a didgeridoo is an effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnoea and snoring.

You lead with the "can a cat be liquid and solid" and not "we found Didgeridos are an effective treatment for sleep apnea"?

Also, this one is great (especially the paper title.)

ECONOMICS PRIZE [AUSTRALIA, USA] — Matthew Rockloff and Nancy Greer, for their experiments to see how contact with a live crocodile affects a person's willingness to gamble.
REFERENCE: "Never Smile at a Crocodile: Betting on Electronic Gaming Machines is Intensified by Reptile-Induced Arousal," Matthew J. Rockloff and Nancy Greer, Journal of Gambling Studies, vol. 26, no. 4, December 2010, pp. 571-81.

The question never occured to me but are life forms considered liquid or solid? After all we contain a lot of water.

I know, right? I don't know how anyone who has ever slept in my apartment has gotten any rest with my sleep apnea and snoring as loud as it is. My wife hates it, my infant son learned fast that he would have to get used to it if he wanted to get any sleep in our bed, guests who sleep in the other bedroom on the other side of the apartment complain about the noise through multiple walls and shut doors with multiple fans and a white noise machine in my room running... Didgeridoos might be preferable. I don't mind the occasional "didg' dirge" either.
