Works on mine. Just be sure you don't click the switch on the cables to "HD"

And is this really that much better... some are saying dont get the 360 without HD, but I have a 100 inch projector (no HD, but component) and 5.1 surround.... Im going to get a lot out of this system right!?!?

It will still look next gen, but if your projector did 720p you would be in heaven. The big jump is th resolution, but then PC gamers have known that for years ;p

Yup, if you do not put the switch on HDTV mode, then it will output the 480i signal to both component and composite.
