I worked as a dishwasher for a catering company at one time. I once washed the dishes, cookware, silverware, and serving platters for an event feeding 200 people by hand. I think you could manage using the sink.

Here's the strategy.

Group like items--glasses, silverware, plates.
Rinse everything with hot water to prevent anything and loosen grease stains
Wash the biggest items first.
Stack and dry.
Get dish towels and place them on tables or floors where you can keep dishes as after you wash them.

Why do you have so many dishes to do?

Do you live by yourself? If so, why do you have so much dinnerware?

Do you live with a lot of people? if so, why aren't they helping?

Did you have a party? If so, why didn't you use disposable?
Also if so, was it because of environmental concerns? If so, you'd have ended up wasting just as much paper as you will water, and you could have recycled it anyway.

The guys upstairs from me used to have a lazy-ass roomate that never did dishes, so they forced him to do them all when they left town once. He put them all in the bathtub to soak, then left them in there the whole week. I can never properly describe to you how bad they apartment smelled after that, just take you time and do them in the sink.

Seriously, throw them all away and only have like four plates and two bowls.

You will learn to wash them instantly after every meal.
