Capcom: "Grace And Leon's Sections in Resident Evil Requiem Are Almost Equally Split"

My worry is it'll be no enemy variety and just cheap jump scares. RE7 mold people got boring fast.

RE2R is the best of both worlds though

I really liked the intro to RE7, up until the point were you got a gun. It was such a breath of fresh air for the series and legitemtly scary for the first time in the history of the franchise save for cheap jump scares. If we can get half a game of that, color me interested. The more skeptical part of me thinks it will be more akin to the Ashley segments in RE4.

So...it won't be like RE2R like they said months ago. Just a half of the game. I mean I loved RE4R, but this is not what I expected and I don't know if this mix is a good idea.

why ? why to you guys want an action RE game ? RE5-6 are a bad joke, why do you guys want so bad to go back to that point ?
There's a fine line between RE5 / RE6 combat and RE2 / RE4 combat. One has turret sections with non stop explosions and the other has well curated action sections with plenty of puzzles and exploration in between.
Playing peekaboo with a monster can also get tiring really fast.

Capcom as usual don't have the balls to decide if they want to make an action game or a horror game, because they know people want a horror game but they can't cook a compelling gameplay if it's not action, so they're just going to make two games in one, just like RE8.
Absolutely. To me it seems they don't have a clear direction and creative vision and instead try to appeal to everyone.
They are indecisive and have no idea what RE is or should be.
So they're like here's a little bit of everything, hope you find something to enjoy.

Hate that shit. Pick one protagonist and go all in with proper pacing, progression and enough time for the story to breath and wrap up.

Instead two castrated campaigns that will inevitably end up being too short and shallow

i dont really like games that have different inventories across different protag

and if i dislike the gameplay section of one of the protag, means half of the game lenght is gone

Considering the game was built with this from the start, I think modern Capcom deserves the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Mod Leon in the whole time day 0 mod is really the best thing that makes the pc better and we all know it.

I'm a Leon man.
I'll do the opposite mod. I'm more of a "let grace sit on my face" kinda man.

Regarding the more "action focused" version of Leon's campaign. I view it like Leon's been through this shit before. He's gonna take care of business because this ain't his first rodeo.

Grace on the other hand, it makes sense for her sections to be more horror focused because how much experience does she have with this compared to Leon?

Gross. I really hate "action" RE.

Raft, c'mon man...
At this point, there have been more action oriented REs than "survival horror" ones, and to be fair, the REs have always been about the action - and I'm not talking RE4 levels of action but, it's always been there.

REs were NEVER about "dat atmosphere ®" and the feeling of helplessness by hiding under beds/inside closets like newer horror games do (Outlast/Amnesia/Soma/whatever), they've always been centered around the action-y bits, how could they not when the game gave you pistols, magnums, shotguns, grenade launchers with 3 different types of ammo to boot and rocket launchers to deal with the enemies (and especially in subsequent playthroughs where you unlock infinite ammo) ?

Yes, we all know that RE4 turned things to 11 but this revisionist history that REs were centered around anything else but the shooting bits is strange.

Cheers

I was into it until my hand got reattached with magic water. At that point I knew it was just going to be the same old crap.
