The Taiwan-based studio was established in 2018, and specialises in animation production for game development.
Capcom announced today that it has now acquired two-thirds of the company’s total issued shares, and that Minimum Studios is now a subsidiary of Capcom.
“Minimum Studios’ strength lies in animation production for consumer home video game development, and the studio has carried out work on major Capcom titles in the past,” a statement by Capcom reads.
“Capcom decided to make the studio its subsidiary company to sustainably bolster its developmental and technological capabilities, aiming to achieve its long-term management goal of 100 million units in annual sales.
“Going forward, Capcom will continue to explore the acquisition of necessary technological capabilities in order to enhance its game development organisation.”
Minimum Studios previously worked on Resident Evil Village, the Resident Evil 4 remake and Dragon’s Dogma 2, working on animation production both in cut-scenes and in-game.
In December the studio opened up a second office, citing “expansion needs”.
“We excel in game, character animation, VR, motion capture, movie, and commercial production,” a statement on the studio’s website reads.
“Our expertise lies in the production of game, film, and advertising animations. With our professional skills, rich experience, and efficient workflow, we strive to meet our clients’ needs and attract high-quality clientele, thereby creating a positive cycle of success.”
