Capcom also highlighted that, for the tenth straight year, it has achieved operating income growth exceeding 10%.

Specifically, Capcom closed the previous fiscal year with net sales of ¥169,604 million (€1,031 million), up 11.3% year-on-year; operating income of ¥65,777 million (€400 million), up 10.5%; and net income of ¥48,453 million (€294 million), up 11.7%.

These impressive numbers were driven largely by Monster Hunter Wilds, which since launching last February on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam has sold over 10 million units.

All of Capcom's titles have managed to move at least one million units each year following their release.

The boost from Monster Hunter Wilds also helped Capcom ship a record 51.87 million game units in the fiscal year, a 13% increase over the prior year. In addition to the new release's success, catalog titles—those released in the previous fiscal year or earlier—accounted for 76.14% of total sales.

Capcom defines catalog titles as games released in the previous fiscal year or before, and notes that the Monster Hunter franchise continues to perform strongly in this category. For example, Monster Hunter: World sold an additional 3.1 million copies seven years after its initial launch.

Looking ahead to the next fiscal year, Capcom forecasts a ninth consecutive year of record results, projecting net sales of ¥190,000 million (€1,155 million) and operating income of ¥73,000 million (€444 million), each representing more than 10% year-on-year growth.

To achieve these targets, Capcom is counting on upcoming releases such as Capcom Fighting Collection 2 (May 16), the Onimusha 2 remaster (May 23), Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess for Nintendo Switch 2 (June 5), along with other titles in development and ongoing catalog sales.

What western devs/pubs cant comprehend, no matter how much they increase price, be it to 80 or even inevitable 100usd by next gen(so 2027-2028), game still has to be good enough for ur customer aka player to be willing to buy it, u can raise price of the games to 500$ per unit, concord still gonna be biggest bomba ever coz ppl simply arent willing to fork up the money for it :D

Feels like Capcom is the only game publisher that figured out how to do things the right way.
All they do is release remasters and remakes. Couldn't get Pragmata out the door after teasing it 5 years ago. Only new things we've gotten for nearly 5 years is Exoprimal and Kunitsu-Gami. Both great games, but both mega-bombed.

They're nearly out of Resident Evil's to remake, and old Street Fighters to port again. I suppose they'll port it all to Switch 2 now though.

Record profits everywhere in this industry.... Time to raise prices though and fire some devs because reasons...

Giving these companies the finger, for lack of a better word,is also good!

So basically, everyone is firing and closing studios, and here's Capcom having record sales. And thanks to what? Single-player games. Would you look at that.

I'm not always a fan of the game design decisions they make, but it's hard to deny their business strategy. They want you playing their games and they act like it.
  • Widely available franchises
  • No launcher on PC
  • Back catalog is often on places like Humble Bundle which creates new fans
  • Older classics are made available on GOG
Think of the money other companies are throwing away by not doing all these.

That's a PC-centric list but the point stands. They're doing a lot of the right things and it's working.

They sell a lot, but the last two games I played from Capcom were neither technically nor playfully good or even finished. Dragons Dogma 2 and MH Wilds.

I'll be much more careful about spending money on their next title.

Buy them Nintendo!

I see that Street Fighter 6 and Dragon's Dogma 2 have really dropped off.

All games have a sales unit drop after their first year. But Street Fighter 6, like Street Fighter V did before it, unlike most games will keep selling a good chunk of sales every year until Street Fighter 7 gets released (pretty likely in seven years after SF6, which is the distance they had between SFIV and SFV and between SFV and SF6).

Consistently giving fans what they want. Simple fucking formula.

Even a game I thought was doo doo like Dragons Fugma 2 sold well and reviewed well for them. If EA tried to put out the shit performance, joke tier sky clouds, donkey combat, etc it'd be a 4/10. Capcom has some major pull that even their worst titles now get a slight pass because of the overall breath of what they deliver.

Their IP list is staggering:
RE
Street Fighter
Monster Hunter
Ace Attorney
Devil May Cry
Onimusha
Okami
Mega Man
Dragons Dogma

Plus plenty of stuff they haven't brought back like viewtiful Joe or Breath of Fire. Oh and they consistently launch new IPs, even if they are meh, in an effort to shake things up.

NO ONE does it better. Remasters, remakes, new IPs, new entries, multi platform, fantastic in house engine, etc.

Capgod.

You know this is a lie, so why say it?
