Capcom: PS5 the main platform for Monster Hunter Wilds

The takeaway is OP is a fanboy. He's trying to make an innocuous translated comment some kind of victory for his platform.

Some people are saying that Capcom main platform for development was the PS5 and that's why the initial launch runs like ass on PC.

The interview also implies that Capcom sees the high price of the PS5 + MH:Wilds + PS Plus combo a little bit high for younger generations in Japan, they mentioned this to be a "barrier".
Doesn't it run like ass on ps5 also?

And they did them dirty, console version look like absolute crap, pro is a bit better but if you want 60 fps you get dogshit iq with some legit ps3 looking textures.

Is the game any good yet?
It's the easier monster hunter by far, if challenge was never the reason why you played the game, then it's just more monster hunter with new monsters and weapon mechanics.

Wait for the master rank expansion if you are not in a rush.

The real thread title should be "PS5 price is too high according to Capcom, so Monster Hunter Wilds sales underperformed in Japan."

Physical sales data from Famitsu
MH Wilds - 816k
MH World - 2.7m (3.2m with digital)
MH Rise - 2.9m (4m with digital)
MH Generation + Ultimate - 4.9m
MH 4 + Ultimate - 6.2m
MH 3 + Ultimate - 3.3m
MHF3 - 5.3m
MHF2 + Unite - 6m
MH 2 - 700k
MH1 - 520k

Do we know how Wilds performed with digital though? whats the digital split in Japan? If its close to the rest of the world Wilds might be doing ok.

This is why its underperformed!

This game would've killed it everywhere had it properly used next gen systems.

Make gorgeous, mysterious world, add lore/backstory to monsters instead of shit hub characters.

Make it perform great.

These are some minimum things I would like to see before I touch another game in the series.

It's obvious that pushing the price point beyond $60 has started cannibalizing sales. Thanks again to the horrible market analytics that thought they could have the cake and eat it too. And the idea to combine the increased pricing with the target demographic often being women/trans etc was bold a move.

The idea that Assassins Creed Shadows is worth more than any of their previous games is laughable. Customers don't care if you have inflated budgets and staffing when the end product is the same as a 3 year old game that can be bought for $15. The level of incompetence it took to get here is scary.

The more annoying stuff it's capcom doesn't give a fuck about release fixing patch performance. I don't know a single game about them who has improved performance later the release, if not minimally. They practically abandons their games after the releasing.
