Japanese giant Capcom has signed a global publishing deal for its first Euro-developed title, Without Warning, from Jeremy Heath-Smith and Adrian Smiths Circle Studio.
The company hopes Without Warning is just the first title in a Europe-specific publishing drive, as it looks to increase its business outside of Japan.
This is the start of our move to work with UK and European development studios, Capcom Europe MD Gary Dale told MCV. Were hoping its the first of many.
Without Warning is a third-person action title set during a terrorist siege in a chemical plant. The game takes place over a fixed time period - similar to smash-hit TV series 24.
The title is the first from Derby-based Circle Studio, the developer set up by the former bosses of Lara Croft creator Core Design.
This marks the first time Capcom has published a title from a European developer, added Capcom president Hiroshi Tobisawa. Without Warning is momentous for both parties.
