Capcom To Have No Playable Nintendo System Games at E3 2012

Well it says playable, so there's still some hope >.> I'm still a bit baffled by the no RE6 on Wii U, they had no issue putting other RE on Nintendo platforms before...
The Mercenaries 3D did that well in Japan?
Not counting Japan, Rev is like 50k higher.

That said, Rev is still really disappointing to me :(

It actually did pretty well in Japan indeed (again, it's relative). Something like 150k I believe (too lazy to check MC's Top 500 >.>). I'm still sad RE:R sold so badly, but then again Capcom sucked at marketing it...

I have a feeling there will not be many playable third party Wii U games at e3. I just don't see them having a demo in time.

I'd imagine 2-3 titles playable from Ubi Soft, 2 from EA, and maybe 2-3 exclusives. The rest will be Nintendo 1st party.

....doesn't matter to me really it's not like I'll be going to e3.

This doesn't necessarily count out Project X Zone, right? Since it's technically a Bamco game?

It's probably published by Namco (as it's being done by Banpresto) and it's not the kind of game you'd see at E3 anyway...

MH3G looking more and more unlikely.

At this point I'll just accept that it's never coming, as sad as it is. (seriously capcom, MH Tri does pretty well then you put no effort into nurturing the fanbase you built... What the heck?)

Can't say I care much about RE6 not being on Wii U. Already the additional content in PS2 version of RE4 was crap, my hype for this series is long over (ok who am I kidding, I tried Revelations demo and it was not so bad)

If they only announce some ports of older games I might still buy the good ones when they are cheap. I'm buying the console for Nintendo games anyway. Everything else is just extra.

Sven already told us not to expect anything at E3 regarding MH3G. This makes me worry about the future of the Ace Attorney series a lot more.

Sort of but not related...

Are there any sales #'s for Ghost Trick DS vs. Ghost Trick IOS?

I'm so fucking curious

Link? I'm pretty sure Sven said that things are in the works for Monster Hunter and to be patient. It was a different community manager that said to not hold your breath for E3.

Hilarious response from an Ask Capcom forum mod, who clearly has no idea what E3 is or what the point is of Nintendo's showing this year:

Guys, Capcom hasn't even announced any games for the Wii U and since E3 is more for 1st Party Companies, its unlikely that many 3rd Party Companies would announce any at E3.

Also, most playable demos at E3 are games that were previously announced games, very rarely, if ever, would there be playable demos for games that were announced at the show.

As such, there was very little chance of Capcom having a playable demo as they hadn't announced any games for the Wii U anyway.

How do people this stupid get mod privileges? That makes possibly even less sense than Sven claiming that MH localization announcements are usually made in Japan.

I really hate these Anonymous Company Representative news stories. We never know if they're speaking from credible, personal knowledge or just repeating what the company has publicly announced at the time.

Not even a Wii game?

Why? Probably because the hardware is outdated, right?

Won't the same thing happen with the WiiU then?

Hardware wise, the Wii U is capable of receiving ports from all of this generation's hardware, and all of next generation's hardware. The onus is on publishers to do so.

Why would anyone show a Wii game this year?

It's Capcom. The odds of them completely ignoring a platform are slim to none. This just means there probably won't be any games in the launch window. Surprising? Yeah. Disappointing? Sure. But catastrophic? Hardly.

You really have to stop posting this as fact.

I'm expecting Konami to come out and say they have nothing for Wii U at E3.

Haha come on, its KONAMI.

They'll have Wii U games, they just won't tell anyone until two weeks after they release and then be baffled when they dont sell.

Did Resident Evil Revelations, Resident Evil Mercenaries, and Street Fighter 4 sell well on 3DS?

SSF4 and Mercenaries are said to have meet expectations. However did crap for Revelations. Nintendo did more for it by putting in a ad advertising the 3DS system. Capcom even undercut it in Europe I believe by airing RE6 ads when it was coming out. They had no problem putting out a lot of ORC ads as well.

I didn't really expect anything from Capcom. They are really random in what they do. Even if they did I doubt I'd even want to touch what they have to offer with their on disc DLC stance. They are pretty much handing the Wii U launch to Ubisoft if they have nothing playable. They were the only other large 3rd party that could have gotten in on the ground floor that at least had a recent strong history on Nintendo systems and with Nintendo fans. The only others are Treyarch and Sega and even then that's just limited to two specific series from them (Call of Duty and Sonic).

Yes Capcoms marketing team has been absolutely shit when it comes to the 3DS. Spamming RE6 commercials before Revelations came out etc and didnt even bother to have a segway in the commercial about Revelations or anything.

Revelations was sent to die

Disappointing but not the end of the world. SSFIV3D and RER weren't playable at E3 2010, right?
RER wasn't playable but attendees could look at it running on the system and fadiddle with the camera. So I guess you could say it was look-able.

Technically, it is. The architectural differences between the Wii U and PS4/720 are going to come with the latter having faster, more powerful components, but in terms of rendering techniques all the systems will be quite similar.

Whether third parties will want to downscale the content like you would if you had a PC game that had to play on lower end systems, is another matter.

You just have to be a fan on the site and have good behavior. The moderators tend to be idiots in my experience. One thought a clear magazine scan of Sentinel was a "photoshop" pre-release. Think of them as the recess aids that told everyone to play nice when you were in school.

No disrespect meant to d3v, who is a good poster and cool guy.

So what's this rumor about another RE title for 3DS? No AAI2 for eShop, no Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney? <_<;

I guess Capcom just doesn't want my money lol. (btw I don't care about RE anymore I've tried so many times to get into it and I just can't.)

They should take a chance and bring over that Nazo Waku Yakata 3DS game, but as an eShop release. Looks more interesting than the crap they tend to put out these days...

Wii hardware and software sales have fallen off a cliff.
There will be Wii games at E3. Not a lot, but there will still be some. As for Capcom, they haven't released a Wii game for some time now and won't be start back up.

This is Capcom. They'll have at least one obligatory fighter at launch. This rep is probably only speaking about Capcom's own booth and Wii U will only be playable at Nintendo's booth. There's no reason to assume that this rep has any knowledge of what the japanese side has planned with Nintendo.

So either a year late port of UMVC3, 18 months late port of SSF 4 AE, or the DLC-unlocked edition of the recent bomba SFxTekken?

Mmh...considering not playable also doesn't mean "not announced"...still, an anonymous companh representative probably doesn't even know really right now what'll be present at E3 of games not announced yet. So, in reality, not so much to see now.

P.S. Let's all remember what a NoA repesentative said about patching in MK7, for example :P or the whole DS Lite business :P

As long as they announce games for Nintendo systems, it's cool. If they don't even announce something, then I'll be disappointed. I'm really hoping we get MH3G over here and some fighting games on Wii U. I'd love to get SSF4:AE and UMVC3 on there.
