I should clarify. This game is only starting it's THIRD week of sales and it's down to 1980yen on RETAIL. Within days of release it was already down to 3380yen at RETAIL, simply because Namco flooded retailers with 450k units at launch and it only sold 160k. Being a 2 hour game the used games market was filled with copies too so they had to slash prices to compete. Fucking sad.
what's this basara you speak of stranger? Their countdown clover title?
: just finished watching. Looks cool but I found the pink 2d trees to be all sorts of funny. The attack moves are very capcom and dynamic. Very interesting that they seem to have adopted the Widescreen look that RE4 had but without the camera angle
This just goes to show you that no matter how much better they make the Gundam game, NO ONE wants to play the one year war all over again.... Once they start making games based on other series then I'm sure people will buy them. Federation vs ZAFT will sell a ton.
btw Shining Force Neo is a great game. It's like the japanese take on Diablo, which is a good thing.

I agree that Alliance vs ZAFT will sell a ton, but that's because the SEED universe is pretty much at it's peak of popularity now. SEED DVDs sold a ton in Japan, SEED-D is selling a ton and the show is finally getting to a point where everyone is excited to watch it weekly again. It's say that Gundam OYW bombed so hard though, they should have lowered their expectations but the backlash is a little extreme even taking that into account. Oh well, there's still Gundam True Odyssey! Here's to hoping for a solid Namco Gundam RPG! :lol
At below 2000yen every person with a PS2 should own the game. Heck even if you don't know what a Gundam is, the story scenes basically recap/tell a cliff notes version of the entire story and the gameplay is fun!
that's becuase in the US, publishers offer markdown credit. basically, when a publisher says a game is now $30 instead of $50, the retailers get a certain amount of credit on unsold units which can apply to future purchases. in japan, sold into retail = sold, and the retailers are just stuck with the units. they want to clear their shelves ASAP and use that room for new games.
