Castlevania : CoD should have been for PSP instead

I had rather seen Castlevania: Curse of Darkness on PSP than on PS2.

1) It's an even greater reason to get a PSP
2) The DS Castlevania is in 2D, and the PSP version would in 3D. Perfect.

Hopefully they will port it to PSP or something.
 
3D castlevania sucks, there hasn't been a good one yet.

On that note, I cant wait for Castlevania DS, and I pray IF they make a psp version, they dont make it 3D.
 
The best Castlevania of all time, SOtN is in 2d, they should keep Castlevaina 2D, it's much better that way.

(Yes I played Lament of Innocence and thought it was good)
 
3D isn't the problem, it's the team responsible for the series at this time. They simply do not seem to understand how to design a good 3D action game. Still, I would have preferred a high-res 2D CV game on the PSP.
 
I'd rather the DS Castlevania were on PSP. It'd be nice to play a 2D handheld game where the developers don't have to struggle to squeeze everything into a painfully low-resolution screen.

Buy a DS and stfu.

Sony fans get's 99% of what is out there, and they bitch about the 1% they dont get.

See, that's the problem. It's not that I won't buy a DS, it's that I feel as if the experience I will be receiving on the DS is going to be significantly worse than what I would have experienced on PSP.

Inferior screen and inferior controls (I HATE the DS d-pad and buttons). The game would look and play better (for me) on PSP.
 
Don't get me wrong, I want the castlevania games to be in 2D also, but since the DS gets a 2D version, I guess they had to make the "other" castlevania in 3D.

But a 2D Castlevania for PSP would also rock. Can't wait for CV DS!

No, it looks and sounds great. The problem is the DS hardware itself. I do not enjoy using the actual hardware. It's like ArcadeStickMonk trying to play 3rd Strike with an N64 pad. You have this great game in front of you, but your abiliity to interact with said game is limited by the hardware interface presented to you.

What is your point? SOTN is Castlevania 2's child. I want Castlevania I/IV type of a game and not SOTN or Castlevania 2 :lol

But the experience of Castlevania on DS will be a lot better than the experience of *no* castlevania on PSP.

I sometimes get annoyed that one or more of my consoles only has a few good games for it - almost thinking that if they only came out on the PS2 I wouldn't need to spend money on Xbox or Gamecube. But thats just a fact of life. You either say goodbye to those games and get on with your life, or you buy the offending console to get access to them. Your call.

I'll give you that the visuales are on some level comparable to SotN(not quite there, though), but the audio quality of CoD, regarding the music, is a PIECE OF SHIT compared to SotN.

Actually the biggest complaint I had about Lament was that there was a HUB, a friggin HUB in a Castlevania games does not belong. I think that was the biggest gripe out of all the cv fans. Every CV game has had a map that you progress through, and if you werent supposed to be in a certain section, you couldnt get there, and you would come back when you could. In Lament, you could do any section you wanted really, and that really detracted from the overall cv game experience for me. I hope CoD corrects these issues

i don't need another 3d castlevania game - i'm sure there will be a billion better slash/hack em ups on the PSP at some point.

A 2d Castlevania on PSP would be fantastic - but i suspect there is a bit of a facination with making all games 3d...

So, DS it is - which i'll have absolutely no issue with given it's gonna be in 2d and the previous GBA games all kicked ass.

Alucard is from CV III. But honestly I personally can not remember how the gameplay was in CV III. I do know that SOTN is far closer to Castlevania II than Castlevania I or IV.
 
Castlevania's beautiful in 2D, but it hasn't completely worked as a 3D game. I liked Lament of Innocence, but the 2D Castlevanias from SoTN and on... friggin great games

From what I remember, you can be one of four different characters.

Trevor Belmont
Grant DaNasty
Sypha Belnades
Alucard

it was a side scroller ala Castlevania 1, and you can morph into any of the 4 main characters during the game... It also had somewhat of a map where you could branch off into different areas and take different paths to the castle...

I mean in terms of gameplay I can see how people compare SotN to CVII, but in terms of story, I would assume that CVIII was a closer branch off than CVII
 
The DS Castlevania is cool because it does something new. I dont see any reason for CV on PSP.

I'd rather see a 2D Castlevania made for PS2.
 
It is amazing that some people complain about the fact that this game is coming to a handheld with less graphical power. That is really it, because I can't believe it is the controls that makes people want it on the PSP for.

Oh I know the solution. Cancel the game for the DS.. just bring it to the XBOX because the PS2 is not powerful enough. Uh oh!
 
2D Castlevania on that yummy widescreen. Would be good! I wonder if Konami has any plans to port this game over to PSP?! :D
 
I think the PSP version (as 2D) would be undoubtedly better and is preferrable, but it's not concerning. The control will be perfectly fine, the sound capabilities are quite good, and the graphics will be roughly on par with SotN.

And as much as I laugh at the second screen constantly being used for a map, I'll be the first (and last?) to say that it will be a welcome addition for Castlevania. I'm playing through SotN right now and I can't tell you how often I stop and hit Select to orient myself.

But how in the world would PSP replicate the groundbreaking ... make that ice-breaking touch features? :D

But yep, it would have been nice to have two portable CVs since the PS2 one isn't getting anybody's attention this second time.

Here's where it fails.. the PSP D-Pad is far worse than the DS one, which is as good if not better than the SP one so I honestly don't understand how you can say that...

If controls were your main issues, then the DS would be the perfect fit
 
I dunno. DS Dpad is sort of small so it evens out.

I'm gonna hold out for a PSP version or I may have to miss this game. Well, if the DS drops to 99 bucks I may grab one to for Castlevania.
