Release date: July 7th on Netflix.

Info: The series is a rough adaption of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. It is 4 episodes, 30 minutes each. It has already been picked up for a second season, which will be 8 episodes. Powerhouse Animation is doing the animation, Frederator is doing production.

The teaser is definitely giving off some Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust vibe. (In addition, Madhouse studio worked on animating those films.) In this case with Castlevania, Adi Shankar has teamed up with Frederator Studios to help bring the animated series to life. They brought Powerhouse Animation Studios on board to work on the animation.

I was looking at his IMDB page. I didn't realize that he, Rick Remender, and Antony Johnston were the writers on the first Dead Space game. I guess it makes sense in hindsight.

Adi Shankar was pushing this project for a long while. He produced an earlier animated unofficial Judge Dredd universe series ( SuperFiend ) as well as the "gritty" Power Rangers fan-film. There's a few other pop-culture projects he's named on Twitter, as well, that he's trying to pull together.

I hope this does well on Netflix.
