~ 10 years of dev work in early access and now (finally) a 1.0 release.

A proper rogue-like game (rather than this modern re-interpretation of the term), with insanely deep and complex systems and huge build variety.

"live and drink"

It looked interesting so i got it. There is a mode without permadeath for those not interested in roguelikes, you save at towns.

Uncultured swine revealing themselves here. Are you really a gamer if you can't handle ASCII art in 2024?

Joking aside, this game is fantastic and now that it's at 1.0 I have no excuse to put off getting deeper into it. I've messed around several times over the years but not gotten very far. This is a seriously wild game in terms of creativity. Like just when making your character it gives you more options than any AAA game in existence.

This looks like one of the most fascinatingly deep and complex games that I will never ever play. I enjoyed the video BennyBlanco BennyBlanco posted but I don't have the time nor the creativity to learn this software insanity

Just discovered you can in fact play this game with a controller and it works way better than I could have imagined. I can see myself playing this way more on my Ally X than I ever did on the desktop.

It's a great game. I have about 450 hours of playtime on different versions. It has been a while since I played so now it seems to be a good time to jump back in. If you can handle the graphics, I highly recommend this game. However be careful with the community (especially on Discord and Reddit) as they are very touchy. I called one bear character a dude and they jumped on the misgendering train quicker than tampons run out from men's toilet.

Looks fantastic! Any chance of this coming to PS5?
They are looking into other platforms. I remember that years ago they were looking at the iPad. I'd venture to say that it may end up in consoles too, if they find a way to make the interface work.

It already works! You can play with a Steamdeck or ROG Ally. It actually handles extremely well.

Installed it again a few days ago. Started playing with a 4 armed mutant marauder. Goal is to get 3-4 axes and dismember everything that comes on my way. Also I will dismember my enemies face off and wear it to get an ego boost. This will help me beguile enemies to be my companion.

I only have ~25 hours in qud (so far). I play on the permadeath mode and keep getting killed by being a little bit too aggressive/cocky "yeah I'll be fine around those baboons", "starting to get really powerful now, what's that flying thing - zap", "Oh yeah a nice sword this will make the rust caves easy - falls to death" etc.

PoE2 has sucked up all my available time recently but I'm sure I'll be back to qud soon
