CBOAT's latest update

I'm resolution whore, on my PC. Run more or less all my games at 1440p. When it comes to console games, I'm a bit more forgiving. Maybe its the distance I sit from the tv. If the games are good, I really don't care if they are 1080p or 900p or whatever. It's a mute point.

I am a bit worried about the hardware holding up, but I really can't see Microsoft making the same mistake twice. They can't afford to.

My point is to provide evidence towards my agreement that they originally did not plan on having a next generation console launching in 2013.

At this rate, I'm sure the Xbox One will turn out to be some kind of bomb. I fully expect links between MS and Al-Qaeda to be exposed this November. This means that Xbox One purchasers are actually terrorist sympathisers.

I refuse to believe Demon's Souls 2 is real until it's in my hands. We've been hearing that rumor forever.

At some point someone should gather all the evidence (and rumors) into one post.

I'd prefer a little more, I dunno, information with my leaks.

A company wanted more time to release a platform, but decided to release sooner.

A source of information unpopular within a community is scoffed at.

In the future, games will be released with a similar spectrum of resolutions as those which have already been confirmed.

You know Sony really did a masterful job leading up to the reveal of the PS4.

Up until them most people would have said Sony was the one behind in next gen development. I remember when the rumours of a possible next gen console delay for one console into 2014 was around and EVERYONE thought it was Sony.

We had xbox rumours on a weekly basis and had been hearing them for over a year but everything was really quite on the Sony front except for a few details every now and again. It just made sense that Sony was behind.

I wonder how Sony kept things so quite. I know they kept the 8gigs of RAM upgrade secret but I wonder if they where keeping a lot more to themselves and not sharing to 3rd parties until after the reveal event to keep the competitor in the dark.

Things are often leaked intentionally. When a company is deadset on keeping thinsg in the dark they usually can. Sony did that and they are to be admired for it.

No, he was only blatantly off with the Sony release date. But that made it two info dumps in a row (the first one being Prince of Persia), where he messed up on something big. That's why people are starting to trust him less. He's still very accurate tho, but now people are looking at his posts expecting at least one major error.

XB1 will be announced as the official console of the GOP
 
I think the only truth we'll ever need is the fact he leaked a gif of Remember Me almost a year before (?) the game was released. Everyone was expecting a reveal at that E3 but it came and went and we never found out what the game was until much later.

Honestly, with the way PoP 2008 ended, the world ending up looking like that wouldn't be a huge stretch. That could be pretty much anything. I think my personal reaction would be "Oh cool, next gen RPG!"

There is almost surely a new PoP game in development, so if he'd recently heard things about it and then saw just a few snippets of the Halo 5 teaser it's pretty easy to see why he might think MS was going to unveil it at their show (which would imply that it's an exclusive of some kind).

We are human, after all. We all make mistakes, even CBOAT. So what, he was almost always right and looking at that canceled Ubisoft game (Osiris aka POP02), he was right. It's impossible to exactly know what feature or game will be finished and which one gets cancelled.
 
CBOAT talked about yield some time ago, maybe he's referring to the same argument: "good" Durango cores are overclocked to the limit (853 MHz ? I bet those last 3 MHz are making the difference) ?
APU cores (as every chip) can successfully pass QC and "die" later if they are stressed too much (clock, voltages, heat).

People saying it's plausible that he could have thought it was a PoP trailer (bit of a stretch) are glossing over the fact that if that's true then he's interpreting limited information incorrectly. CBOAT posts now include a grain of salt in every box.

I had the same gut feeling that Sony wasn't ready. The Durango rumors came flying in from all angles and then the statement from Activision that only one console would come out in 2013.

It makes you wonder how MS is so fucking behind when they haven't been putting their best effort into the 360 for at least three years now.

Bkilian has posted over at B3D (He worked on Xbox one on the sound chip, but has since left) has posted that Xbox one was never planned as a 2014 launch. Take that as you wish but he is well trusted and very articulate poster.
