Over 20 million cyberpunks have been roaming the streets of Night City – partying with Jackie and getting to know Johnny, driving around with Panam and diving with Judy, hanging out with River and listening to Kerry's songs. Thank you and we hope to see you all in the Afterlife!

I thought I remembered reading on here that this game was a total failure? 🤭

Couldn't help myself. Congrats to them on the success of the game. I'll give it a go if a good digital sale comes along or it gets added to GP or something.

Good job Edgerunners. Anime always saves the day.

That aside, the games been fine on PC and at least secures Cyberpunk sequel will definitely happen.

I love this fucking game. Especially after all the updates and bug fixes.

Me too, man. I own so much swag and merch related to Cyberpunk, it's not even funny. I even have limited edition One X that's not connected to anything and is just standing like a monolith on a shelf.

In all honesty their launch day shenanigans became a sweet deal for PS5 owners (presumably Series X too). This game had so much baggage that you could get it dirt cheap last right before the free upgrade dropped. I've never spent so many hours on a $20 game (if I even paid that).

Hype sells. Only game I ever refunded, due to how bad it was, legit trash.

Ended up buying it for consoles later for $5 and I still regret it.

Awesome. Clowns of retardera coudnt do shit with their hate mongering. Clocked in 100 hours, awesome game it is.
You say that as if people here didnt hate on the game just as hard....for different reason but hate all the same.
Hell im pretty sure until like last week the general sentiment here was that CP2077 is garbo.

There was a thread a while back talking about how CP2077 and ViLLage were both getting updates and people questioned why the studio would keep supporting a bombed game like CP2077.
At that time CP2077 had way more players the ViLLage and posters were shook.
The ERA and GAF bubbles are real until headlines basically shake us into believing the truth.

13.7 million copies by the end of December 2020
4.3 million from January 2021 to mid-April 2022
2 million from mid-April to October 2022

Does it enjoy a rebound in public perception this year? Or were the recent discounts good enough for people on the fence?

It was always good on PC. Now it's got good new-gen versions as well. Nothing will ever save the last gen versions, and they should never have released but as time goes on more people will catch up to the needed hardware.

Watched the anime and loved it. Bought the game and uninstalled it 12 hours later. But I feel the way I was playing was probably the most unfun way so I could have misjudged it.

The anime helped it in addition to the sales. Just like The Witcher got a huge boost with the first season of the Netflix show.

I was going to say that sounds a bit low, but if you take into account all the refunds (espcially on console), its probably about right.

I'd also love to see the PC vs console split because using the old Steam tricks to estimate sales, sales on Steam dont come out far off that number alone. Again they must not be counting refunds, and fair play for doing that.

Still just short of being a great experience because of performance and jank imo but its still a good game now I'm into it proper

It was always good, now it's very, very good and with the DLC and future patches is has the potential to become epic.

I'm 310 hours on PC alone. Doing another playthrough right now and they added so much new shit since 1.4, I highly recommend it.
Yup! It was my GOTY and Steam playtime counter says 270 hours for me, Elden Ring has surpassed it at 280 hours now but both are among my recent favorites.

30+ hours in.

It's good to avoid hivemind thought-bubbles. Taking a step back for perspective on something seems to be a bit more rare, these days.
It's a pretty fun game, but it will always bother me how this should have stayed in the oven for another year or more, that would be before they even start the polish.
It's graphics are pretty insane and finding that sweet spot for locked fps and 4k has made this game a literal show piece for the hardware I bought a few months back.

I wanted the game to succeed, so it was disappointing to see how they released this game in the state that it was in. As of right now, I give it an 8, but only because I'm ignoring the stuff they never put into it. Better to rate it based on what's there than what is not.

The game is an unbalanced mess, but art design, fascinating universe, atmosphere, some story chops and some graphical aspects were always good.

Bug wise the experience on pc was less embarassing than any ubisoft open world at launch or bethesda game, not even joking, i'm doing a run right now and i feel like the game hasn't improved a bit bug wise, for better or worse, maybe i was just lucky.

Keanu, his lazy va and his annoying ass character can fuck off tho, yeah we get it, you are more edgy than a japanese katana, now shut the fuck up.

I was there at launch date, with my poor PS4, having a blast, warts and all

This game have been blue balling me for years now. "I'll wait until the next update to play it to completion"

Then I waited for the next patch. Then the next. Then the next after that

And now I'm waiting for the police patch to arrive lol

I have finished it 2 times already, had lots of fun, but I'm still waiting for the "definitive" playthrough

Maybe next year

Playing now for the first time since launch, enjoying quite a lot. Great characters and story 👌

It's an odd game, I don't remember a high budget title with such a display of talent and experience disparity among the different teams and members working on it. Lies do sell.
