CFB Week 3: The playoffs really did make the regular season pointless.

mre

Golden Domers are chickenshit!!
College Football purists were right: adding a playoff really did make the regular season suck. Did Week 2 really count as a week of college football? Jack shit happened. From looking at this week's schedule, we have another weekend of shitty games scheduled.

As buck put it so poetically:
This weeks games, Woof.

I'm having a hard time figuring out if Kiffin or Bielma is the most hated man in college football. Any other contenders?

We had MSU/Oregon, USC/Stanford, and Michigan/ND at least this week its UGA/SC (which i dont think will even be a great game) and thats it.
It'll be a good one. The OBC hates Georgia so much, we always get their best effort of the year. The question is how good they are after getting blown out by A&M and then playing East Carolina.

I think Bug Game Bob taking on the buttchuggers could be a good one.

Petrino and the OBC. Always.

Some other ACC games that are interesting to me, a professed ACC homer enthusiast:

- East Carolina at 17 Virginia Tech (noon ET / ESPN): Are the Hokies back or will they have a let-down week?

- Georgia Southern at Georgia Tech (noon / ESPN3): Is Georgia Tech even the second best FBS program in Georgia these days?

- 21 Louisville at Virginia (12:30 / ACCN, ESPN3) - First ACC road game for Louisville against a team that played UCLA strong

- NC State at South Florida (3:30 / CBS) - NC State has needed second half comebacks both games this season to beat lesser foes at home. This one is on the road.

- Kansas at Duke (3:30 / ESPN3) - Another game Duke should win that historically they haven't.

I don't know that I'll be able to see any of these games, though. I'm closing on my house on Wednesday (yay, me!), and am trying to get deliveries scheduled for Saturday for new furniture, appliances, etc., not to mention cable hook-ups.

I think I maybe got 3 points from the pick em from last week's games. I just have to survive through 2 more non conference games (Rutgers, UMass), and then the BIG schedule can begin!

I got grudge sucked!
Just got back from Birmingham, and nope, didn't get struck by lightning. My dad reasoned that between the heat and and the storm, that Saban can be mad at God for people leaving early.

Apparently we have opened as favorites against Arkansas and the line has only moved more to the Tech side. Didn't expect this after our performances the last two weeks.

Why not rightfully place the blame on the AD for scheduling FAU and expecting season ticket holders to suck it up and take it.

Tanner McEvoy for Heisman, singlehandedly leads a 10-1 Wisconsin team to the Big Ten Championship, where they crush a 6-5 Michigan State team. Gets the fourth round playoff position behind Alabama, Auburn, and Texas A&M.

Says the fan of the team playing Purdue next week.

Purdue may be shit, but there's a huge chasm between them and FAU. Purdue has 5 more wins than FAU over the last 10 years and they've never even been a member of the Sun Belt conference.

Talking trash about ND's schedule this year just doesn't work.

Iowa(2-0) vs. Iowa State(0-2)

As much as I've been hating on the Cyclones the past 2 weeks, I'm gonna be really positive here because fuck the Hawkeyes. Iowa might have 2 wins, but these are an 8 point win against Northern Iowa(last year 9th place in their FCS conference) and a 4 point win against Ball State(last year 3rd in the MAC). Iowa State's losses are to defending FCS champs NDSU and to 20th ranked Kansas State. Watching both teams the past week, I'd say that Iowa has a slight advantage, but only because the game is being played at Kinnick Stadium.
