Does a MCU all encompassing thread exist?

I would love to get all these movies in a thread and have the first post nail specific comics that highlight all these characters in their best light for fans who want to read up on them.

WOW! Never heard too much of Black Panther but after reading that small amount of info.....WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A major movie company going that far out to make a movie like that with a black lead? And is the hometown supposed to be in an African country?

Black Panther was the very first African superhero ever. It would be a huge disservice to the character and his fans if Marvel didn't at least attempt to make a big movie for him.

It's super exciting :)

How about Justin Lin? He did great things with The Fast & The Furious, and Community paintball directors are a good match with Marvel apparently.

He peaked 20 years ago. He's still living off the fumes of Boyz n tha Hood. If you are going for token black director who made a urban crime drama in the early 90s (which you don't to begin with), I'd rather have either of the Hughes Bros than Singleton.

So other black directors ain't got shit on Anton Fuqua? Maybe Scott Sanders of Black Dynmaite fame?

Ytig Gig would be a good director.
;-)

But seriously, I'm not sure who could direct this movie.

No, you don't but it's funny how the best director is always a white guy. Studios are giving unknown white directors opportunities to make movies all the time but it's impossible to find a non-white director?

I'd rather the most talented person be hired for the job over whether they are black or white.

Why doesn't everyone eat the heart shaped herb?

http://marvel.wikia.com/Heart-Shaped_Herb

To become the Black Panther the chietain of Wakanda, a warrior must defeat the current Black Panther and fight six of Wakanda's greatest warriors all at once. After this they must complete several other tasks to prove their worthiness. If they are successful and gain the role of leadership they have the juices of the Heart-Shaped Herb applied to his body. It is said that anyone not worthy or of noble blood would not survive the process.[1]

http://marvel.wikia.com/Erik_Killmonger_(Earth-616)

Taking the Throne
After Reverend Achebe's takeover of Wakanda, and the absences of T'Challa absent and control went to the regent Everett Ross, Killmonger tried to gain control via by exploiting the economy, forcing T'Challa to stop him by nationalizing all foreign companies in Wakanda and cause a run on the stock market.[12] The two foes fought in a vicious ritual combat over the right to rule the country, and Killmonger was able to finally defeat his long time enemy and gain the status of Black Panther for his own.[13] [14] He remained ruler of Wakanda for a while and tried to inherit T'Challa's Avengers status.[15] He even had to battle to mercenary Deadpool. [16] But when he underwent the ascension rite needed to cement his position, his body had a severe reaction to the heart-shaped herb that he was required to consume.[17] It was poisonous to all but the royal bloodline.[18] Although it would have been convenient to allow him to die,[19] and be unquestionably entitled to the position of the Black Panther, T'Challa preserved his rival's life.[20][21][22]

I'm sure comic gaf could go into detail, but my understanding is that it's just a magical type of thing, like Thors hammer I guess. Not worthy? No herb.

Why won't someone assassinate the brit Queen and proclaim themselves royalty?

It just wouldn't happen.

Not to challenge Panther for the throne, but for the increased abilities.

Ahhh sweet, thanks.

This man gets it. Go watch Edge of Tomorrow and the first Bourne movie people.

Liman would kill it with BP fight scenes and Wakanda action.

Liman or Blomkamp pls

Yup Liman would be GOD-tier for a Black Panther movie make it a political thriller about Wankanda's introduction to the outside world and the effect it has on the world plus some elements from Christopher Priest's run and there you go.

Oh and the Russo Bros directing BP action

Can you blame us? Shit's been "in production" since '93. Stan Lee's been confirming this shit for years.

like..it's been my go to joke since the early 2000's, like it was basically "yea marvel making a black panther movie.....and well have a black president one day too" level of trolling

and yet in 2014...here we are

He didn't like TV because the producer had all the say. You think he would want to direct a Marvel movie?

Is Get On Up good?

I never said it was likely, but I've been name dropping him for the longest now and will continue to do so (Banana Slug alumni yo).

And yes, Get On Up is good, especially Boseman's performance.

You know what would be cool? a Black Panther Game like the batman games. I hope Black Panther Becomes more popular like GOTG. Yesterday I saw a kid in a Rocket Racoon Outfit. It brought a Tear to my eye.

A Black Panther game does sound cool. I just love how Panther takes out people using the simplest of methods.

Hopefully we won't get some Panther's cheesier villains like the White Supremacists.

So.... I don't like the costume. I've been trying to give it time to work, but the whole body glove thing just looks... silly to me. Sorry. I get the rationale, it just doesn't look good to me. Still, I'm sure it will be better in motion and not a Cap in Avengers moment with a terrible on screen look.

It seems like very few Marvel console games are being made these days. Other than Disney Infinity 2.0, I can't think of the last Marvel console game that was released involving MCU heroes. I don't think there was ever a game based on Avengers or anything after it. Really Marvel Heroes is the closest thing we're going to get to a real Marvel game for a while, I'm afraid. Black Panther's already available for that as well.

Liman, by his own admission, is a tremendous pain to work with. Doesn't exactly sound like someone up Marvel's alley then :p

So...for someone who is still largely new to comics but always wanted to read Black Panther sometime..are there a couple of collections that are must have primers for what make the Black Panther great?
