Just a heads up..ordered two vita games from planet axel at the weekend, just checked the website today and the site is now saying that they are bankrupt

I payed by PayPal so I hope I can get my cash back!!!

Whoa. I wonder if that's why my Layton took so long.

They were the answer, I remember, when I put out a plea for import DVD sellers. I've a nice pile of MST3k DVDs from them.

Is Folklore or 3D Dot Game Heroes avalible anywhere at decent prices? Shipping to Sweden.
I've done a UK search and nowhere online has then at a good price, best seems to be ebay. Though someone may know somewhere I don't know.

Best bet is to look out for them preowned in local stores or on local ebay like sites, sometimes they will be part of a job lot with 3-12 games in. If you want them new you will have to deal out quite a lot, they are niche games that didn't sell much but became very popular later.

I've seen both preowned at good prices in the past, I can keep an eye out if you'd like.

EDIT: Found on Amazon Marketplace 3D Dot Game Heroes USED for £15.78 + £4.08 shipping to Sweden (£19.86 overall) (Seller is Panda Games)

Anyone else did get an cancellation-mail from planetaxel for White Knights Chronicles 2? They seem to be bankrupt. Sad.
How much was it?

Edit: It's sad to see PlanetAxel disappear. I'm still hesitant about using VG+ since they didn't notify me that my personal information had leaked and they didn't offer any kind of compensation. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any other good alternatives for importing games from North America.

Woah, Planetaxel is no more? That's all kinds of unexpected. They were such a professional and reliable site that I would have guessed they are doing solid business. Really sad to see them go away.

Gutted about Planet Axel, I had Gungnir cancelled this morning :(

Rebecca from GameStop has replied to my email and now claims that it was a "systems error" rather than a "stocking issue". Whatever you say darling..

really liked planetaxel and it sucks to see them go.

Best US to EU site I used.

Havent used them in nearly a year but I have been trying to cut back on buying games.

My Gamestop orders (I ordered from both the .uk and .ie sites) are both still listed as "confirmed", and I haven't received any cancellation e-mails. I've also been charged for both of them.

For those of you who had your orders cancelled, were you charged and then refunded, or nopt charged at all?

Wow, that really sucks. I'd been using them since back when they were Axel Music and always received great service. Was thinking about buying Tales of Graces F from them just a few days ago. :(

Mine on the .ie site is still being shown as confirmed even though I got a cancellation email, and they've taken my money so I've no idea where I stand.

Gamestop charge you the moment you order. They don't wait till they dispatch.

I just got my cancellation email and it mentioned that I would get a refund as well as a non-specific 'free gift' with my next order. I ordered using a debit card.

Still havent got my MS points from the MS store nor any dispatch emails.

Mine's just dispatched; however can people clarify, the order initially was £20, plus £4.99 for shipping, correct?

Well because they took the piss with delivery I emailed them and they said they weren't charging for shipping, which they haven't, but they've charge me £4.60 or so for tax. I don't remember this being in the initial checkout screen, which came to £24.99.

Can anyone else clarify?

Shipping from MS is free, so you probably just mistook the tax for delivery at checkout.

It's free for the US, but the checkout definitely said £4.99 shipping and says it ships in 2 business days. That's in the UK by the way.

I bought some (I'm in the UK) the last time they did this sale, at Easter, and shipping was always free.

There's an option for quicker shipping, IIRC, don't know if you maybe opted for that, but default shipping was free and the cards were £12 each.

I just received my cancellation e-mails from Gamestop.co.uk and Gamestop.ie. I expected it, but that doesn't make the whole thing any less of a joke.

I'm currently typing up an e-mail to them. Let me know what you guys think:

Hello.

As somebody who previously worked in a customer e-mail support capacity, I would first just like to state that I understand there is a clear distinction between the people responsible for this mistake, and yourself, the person who will read this e-mail. So I apologise that you are the one who I'm directing this complaint towards, but I cannot let such poor customer service pass without comment. Hopefully Gamestop receives enough complaints about this for further action to be taken, as opposed to you and the rest of Gamestop's customer support having to deal with all the damage control.

There are no such stock issues. These deals have been the subject of much discussion on many forums online, and every single person who placed an order received the same stock e-mail from Gamestop (be it Gamestop.uk or Gamestop.ie), informing them that their order had been cancelled. Furthermore, there were several times at which the offer was unavailable due to items having sold out, but then later being available again when the items were back in stock.

It was not a simple mispricing either. I understand when a site is unable to adhere to a given price due to a typo being made when a product is added/edited added, but this was a whole promotion/special offer being advertised prominently on the site. It was a deliberate price and a deliberate offer, further supported by the fact that the offer was on both Gamestop.uk and Gamestop.ie at roughly the same prices after conversion rates are applied. This was not a simple mistake.

I believe that Gamestop did not anticipate how popular this deal would be, and did not expect such a large amount of orders. Putting aside the fact that this indicates at least one person at Gamestop is incredibly out of touch with their market, Gamestop should accept the consequences of such a miscalculation. Retracting an offer completely because it is too popular simply sends a terrible message to all customers; that being it's not worth shopping with Gamestop, as any good deal they see may just be another "mistake".

If I'm mistaken, and this was somehow a pricing mistake of some sort, then you've squandered any chance that I might accept that as truth by instead lying about it being a stock issue. If it was is a stock issue, you would be sending e-mail notifications to myself and the hundreds (possibly thousands) of other people who took advantage of this offer, once you do receive the stock, and are ready to honour it.

I would also like to take this opportunity to suggest that Gamestop review it's decision to charge customers upon the order being placed, as opposed to their items being dispatched. Like the lying, this would not have been such a big issue had so many people not had money taken out of their accounts, and have to wait several days for it to be returned.

Your e-mail asks that I reconsider shopping with you in the future; rest assured, I certainly will reconsider it.

Let me know what you guys think:

Excellent, really. A couple of mistakes I picked up on:

Otherwise, great.

Let me know what you guys think:

You're making a lot of assumptions based on nothing, there's every chance that they're telling the truth and accusing them of being dirty liars, well, what exactly are you trying to achieve with this email?

If you're going to complain about something I'd complain about something you know for certain to have gone wrong, not just about things you think might have maybe possibly gone wrong. Perhaps.

You also claim there are no such stock issues, then comment on how the offer must have been genuine but exceeded their expectations, which directly contradicts yourself. Overall, I have no idea what you're trying to say.

Those don't contradict each other. Just because it did better than expected doesn't mean they sold out.

I am reconsidering sending it though. Just typing it up helped me vent a bit. If I do send it, I might make it more of a generic "I'm not happy" message, and just hope that they receive enough complaints to do something (even if it's just reconsider how they do things in the future). It's not like a single e-mail is going to accomplish anything no matter how many points are raised.

You should definitely send an email and complain if you feel hard done by. I would just try and be a bit less conspiracy theoristy about it, because I'm not sure they'll take it that seriously unless you're actually directing your complaint towards something you know to be real.

Already revised it:

Hello.

As somebody who previously worked in a customer e-mail support capacity, I would first just like to state that I understand there is a clear distinction between the people responsible for this mistake, and yourself, the person who will read this e-mail. Furthermore, I personally noticed that there were several times during which the offer was unavailable due to individual items having sold out, but then later being available again when the items were back in stock.

Also, if it is a stock issue, why not simply send e-mail notifications to customers, informing them that their orders will be delayed, but the offer would still be honoured, unless they choose to receive a refund instead?

I find it more likely that this was a pricing mistake of some kind, but I while understand when a site is unable to adhere to a given price due to a simple typo being made when a product is added/edited, but this was a whole promotion/special offer being advertised prominently on the site. It should have been honoured on that basis alone.

Like I said, I was mainly venting in that first one, and I typed it up knowing I'd be sharing it and it's sentiments on GAF, hence why I didn't send it immediately.

Oh yeah I got my cancellation e-mail. The time discrepancies can only be explained by them sending them out individually. Surly on a mistake of this magnitude its best to make a special mailing list and ensure everyone gets the message at the same time rather than 1-3 days after.

If I do order with them again I'll be sure to mention the free gift. Given the random game offers they sometimes did having good games in them it could be anything good or naff...

So 4200 EU MS points is up for 29.99GBP on cheapxboxlivecodes.com (a 10GBP off from it's regular 39.99). Is this the "new norm" or is it some sort of a "don't miss this" deal? I need to stock up for this Summer of Arcade so I'm wondering should I buy now or can I wait a couple of weeks?
