So I live in Austria and the shipping costs of Amazon.co.uk are just ridiculous. Dark Souls shipping 5.xx pounds and 2 copies would cost me 7.xx shipping - WTH?

So like I take it everybody else missed the fact Amazon are doing a boxing day deals week. You know the drill lightning deal blah...so what was today:

Saint's Row the Third £16.99
Battlefield 3 £15.99
(both conosle versions)

no idea if those were good prices but almost not worth knowing so I don't have to spend another week gawping at stupid deals and countdowns.

Edit: Oh right post 9640...

The GAME sale was mostly bullshit, I was up and refreshing the site when it went live and most games were marked as being out of stock from the start. However, my local GAME did have Skyward Sword collectors edition for £29.

I picked up Shadows of the Damned and El Showaddywaddy for £4.98 each, and Crysis 2 for £12.98. They also had Joker 2 DS for £14.98 and Inazuma Eleven for £19.99.

Meh, I'd give that a shot but I can't seem to create an account without them wanting me to sign a CCA agreement. I just want to be charged the full amount when it ships, I don't need any financial help dammit.

Bah, I'll stick with the £200 Zavvi one I have which hasn't been cancelled yet.

LOL, ordered. It's going to be cancelled.

What's this thing saying I have £750 to spend. Is very legit?

It's a credit account, that's how Very works. I have an account with them that I don't use but I wouldn't recommend them. I bought some games from them which I returned, they arranged the courier themselves and then claimed they had no record of the collection and I had to pay for them. It was their own courier and they didn't know anything about it... allegedly.

Might as well order it and see what happens. I take it they don't charge the account until release day?

I don't think they charge even then.

It looks like you get £1000 credit which you can pay off monthly if you choose (£43 a month for 3 months? YES PLEASE!), I just might stick with it even if the price does increase.

That's what I was on about, the CCA thing. I think it's because you're allowed to spend £750 and then pay it back later if you want. I was trying to find a way of getting round it, because I don't need that, but it doesn't look like there is.

If you decline to agree with the credit terms on the page where it prompts you to sign up, it gives you the option to pay by debit/credit card instead of credit.

(don't check the tick box and then click the next page button and it will give you the option)

Awesome just ordered... Please go through :3

Oh I see, well I think the credit option is safer for me atm, because I'm not directly putting my card details in yet but I'd be subject to that shitty APR if I screw up somehow.

Hope I know what I'm doing. T_T

Very are dodgy as fuck. I've been getting letters off them for months saying I owe them money and I don't even have an account. Be careful ordering shit from them.

Don't use Very for fuck sake

edit - To be clearer, Very have a history of been massive dicks.

A cancellation is probably the best outcome - if Very are feeling nice. Otherwise, judging by their history, you'll get over charged credit cards, you will get the product at the price, but get harrased by email and phone calls, and if Very feel like it you will get legal action taken against you - or at least threaten you with it.

They are probably the worst online retailer of all - Zavvi are as pure as snow by comparison.

Plus, you can't cancel orders on Very. Most likely they wont cancel it either, they'll just add the full amount to your credit account or charge your card for the full amount and wont notify you.

Very is warning people on twitter that orders might get cancelled.

Hope it's of help. A bit jealous that I'm missing out on the online sales fun due to being in Montreal for a few months. Enjoy the cheap gaming guys. :)

Chances are it will get cancelled, but I'd be more annoyed if I didn't go for it and some were honoured rather than going for it and being cancelled as I expect it to be.

What's this thing about Mario Kart 7 being a deal today at 6pm on Amazon? It's not specified anywhere on the site, was it a tip off?

Balls.

At the very worse, my payments will be spread over 3 months.

It is a sad day in Cheap Arse history when GAFers are signing up to Shop Direct accounts for a mis-price.

Good luck, all.

Can't be cheap ass without the cheap, plus if they honoured their price I'm looking at over £100 off at launch, couldn't resist even a slim chance of that happening.

very unlikely that they will honor it.

i made the mistake of ordering from them once, still get email spam to my old address even though i told them to fuck off and clicked unsubscribe links, the one order i made was for a PSN card with some code discount but it didnt get honored.

they said they'd be charging me full price so i said i'd get my bank involved, they fucked off after that.

£129 for a vita sounds good, probably around the range what i'd pay for one if i wanted it (battery life totally killed it for me) but a) its very and b) i doubt they'll honor it.

if you are gonna try just dont give them your real email and go into your account section and remove from all their mailing bs

Amazing deal there with Mario Kart! And I had £10 amazon voucher from exchanging some nectar points, so only £4.99 :)
