is it true you have to have finished the first game before you can play the sequel? i'm in the mood for a japanese role playing game and that's the perfect price.

It actually includes the remastered original on the same disc so you would be getting both games for £12.99.

GAME are offering good trade-in value on stuff...

Good, if you can find anything they actually stock to use it on.

That's great for people who have those games, but in light of Game Group's current situation, those trade-in prices are way too high. £35 trade-in for newer releases means they're sold at £37.99 used. Why the hell would anybody pay those prices when they can find the same games brand new and cheaper elsewhere? Especially games like ME3 and SSX, which have online activation codes?

I work at a Gamestation, so I'm seeing this first-hand. Game Group are buying in all these games, but they're sitting on shelves unsold because they 're far too expensive. The only way they'll sell is if Game drop the price lower than what they were bought in for.

Game Group's business model is fucking stupid; it's no wonder they're going down the shitter.

This is correct only as long as they pay similarly ridiculous prices in cash. Which they don't. If not, it's basically just giving people credit they can trade for stock that's already in the store for games other people might buy with real cash the Game needs to save itself. It's short sighted and if they have any other option this would be stupid, there is *some* cash that will leak out through PSN credit/MS points purchases, but overall it's a bit like saying 'take some of those other overpriced preowned games we have or some stuff that people wouldn't touch with a long stick even if we cut the price in half such as Fifa 1998 and give us a juicy copy of ME3 that might potentially net us some real cash.'

What makes me think it's the case is that usually their trade-in prices were absolute garbage compared to HMV. So this must be a decision caused by the recent trouble - and this is the only explanation I can come up with.

Looks like Gamestation is going to die according to MCV... expect deals in store (...and maybe on the site too).

Sorry if I come across as being uncaring - and sorry to the few GAFFERS that work there.

edit - MCV might be jumping the gun a bit

$10 Amazon.com Gift Card - $5.00 @ Amazon.com

They have a decent digital game every now and then (Football Manager 2012 for $5 a while back), so it is a good investment. There is no need to change you delivery address if you are Euro based, just pick a local of the page, and it will still sell it to you. Thanks Wario64

Also, make sure to add the gift card to your account before the day is over - otherwise the giftcard will expire. Once you have added it to you account, the $10 will stay active for as long as you need it.
I just bought it but...
Please Note
Due to the popularity of today's Amazon.com Gift Card deal it may take several hours to receive our email confirming your purchase. Thanks for your patience!
So does that mean it'll expire before I receive it?

Also does it have to go onto my the same Amazon account you bought it off or can it be any...I suppose if it is on my account I can just use the funds to buy a giftcard.

The page itself says "Amazon.com Gift Cards (“GCs”) do not expire" so I really don't know. Pretty sure you'll be fine regardless, I can't imagine they'd send you a code that's already expired.

Fortunately I managed to nab one when the thread for it first came up, so I got my code straight away.

Steel Diver is currently £10.85 at shopto

I'm tempted, but after reading some reviews i'm not sure if I should buy now or wait for it to drop further - whats the gaf consensus?

Anybody know a good place to pre-order Tales of Graces F with probable pre-order dlc, besides Game.co.uk?

What's up with zavvi? All the prices changed from one minute to another. Wanted to order the darkness 2, which jumped from 25£ to 30£ and rayman origins from 15 to 20£ :/

Anyone got a 10% code for me? Thanks guys.

Is it me or deals on big games have been very scarce as of lately? Especially amazon

In terms of video game deals, Amazon rarely lead with price drops, they usually follow Tesco, HMV, and Play with a price-match in most cases. They never take much notice of Zavvi, Base and others though.

There has been a few decent things lately (Yakuza: DS dropped to £25 on release day), although stuff like SSX and Syndicate seems to be staying high for a bit long.

Maybe EA has learned not to overstock shops - which is the main reason shops dropped prices - in a effort to make more room.

Maaaan, I'm waiting on sooo many games to drop price. The biggest one is Skyrim, 5 months already, I hate that i missed the deal back then.

Major EA games always seem to hold their price pretty well. I was looking at FIFA 12 earlier and it's still around the £30 mark online.

It's back again at this price, just ordered it along with Tales of the Abyss, which is in stock, at least it says Usually dispatched within 24 hours.

That's annoying. They cancelled my order for Abyss a couple of weeks ago saying they wouldn't be getting any more stock.

Risen 2 Collectors Edition (Xbox-only) is £39.47. Pre-order now to lock in the price! RRP is £70 so looks like someone cocked up.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0077987MU/

The Collector's Edition includes:
Making of DVD - interviews with the developers from Piranha Bytes who delve deeper into the production of Risen 2.
Soundtrack CD - The gripping tunes of the Risen 2 soundtrack will immediately absorb the listener into this fantastic pirate world.
Double-sided poster - a large sized map of the game world on one side and an epic artwork featuring the hero and his crew on board their impressive ship.
Pirate Flag - with the skull motif from Risen 2.

The Art of Risen 2: Dark Waters - an exclusive collection of art cards on high quality-paper.
Three Risen 2 stickers.

Binary Domain down to £19.99 at Amazon, as well. I know Base had it for £18 but some prefer Amazon.

Mine got cancelled on March 13th. Seems like that was on purpose. Is that even legal?!? I had a unique 15% code and thats why I dont order again. Fucking morons.
