Is anyone else having a problem on Zavvi where discount codes aren't working when you put them in? I'm talking about the ones offered in public for everyone to use. It doesn't register and the price total stays the same.

Yeah, sometimes they just don't seem to work for me either. Even had that with a code sent in an email to a fellow GAF'er last week. Was just trying to order Sonic Generations, so no preorder or anything. But maybe it's all just me. :-)

Edit: Catherine (both versions) seems to be sold out now on Zavvi. Oh well... jimi_dini was right, I guess.

Just wondering if PS3 320GB £186 at ShopTo is currently the cheapest price? I'm going to order one this weekend and just wondering if its cheaper elsewhere.

Completely forgot (didn't know) that the Ratchet and Clank HD Trilogy was out this week until I read mention of it here, went straight to Shopto where they've stopped taking orders because of a shortage of copies :(

Is this limited run or just a limited initial stock which will be replenished within a week or 2?

Edit: Sorry it was mentioned in the Achieve Trophies thread

Everyone else is still taking orders.

addnan

PS3 320gb + Uncharted 3 Game + Faster Blu-ray only £199.64 using code RMTW19HL (15% OFF) @ tesco entertainment

get that its best price for what you get mate?

I went for the 3DS XL Tesco deal at £140.73.
Then I cancelled.
Now I'm tempted to re-place it.
What to do...???

I hate the fact they take your money straight away.
I have a pre-order in with Zavvi and I normally like to juggle a few right up to the last moment to ensure I get the best price. Tesco taking the money straight away is what puts me off :(

Hey EuroGAF! Listen up!

Since thatgamecompany's Journey collection isn't coming to Europe, I want to import it from NA.

What's the best site for that?
Gamestop is out of the question since their shipping costs are outrageous.

Is videogamesplus.ca safe now? (they had a breach not so long ago)

Dunno about safety, but they do charge you around 7,50 euro per item for shipping.

You could also try play-asia.com, I guess.

Really? Whoa. It was only $7.50CAD last time I ordered there. Tronix have always been awesome for me, Fedex shipping isn't too costly and will arrive in two days.

Gamestop used a courier when I last imported from them, meaning your almost guaranteed to get hit by customs, but on the other hand it came fairly quickly.

Play-asia are usually alright as well for importing, though they often don't ship out pre-orders till a few days after release.

Since PlanetAxel is gone, other than that your probably stuck with VG+. I can't really vouch for their security, but i'd imagine they'd have improved it since the break in.

Their shipping costs depend on the exchange rate ofcourse (which are unfavourable for us Europeans lately), but also on weight. I have only ordered limited editions from them so far, so I guess maybe that's why it was more expensive for me.

Just a heads up.

i wouldn't order anything from cheapxboxlivecodes website.
I never did get my money back through Paypal and was never given one reply from that site.

Crooks as far as i'm concerned.
I know people haven't had a problem from them but i wouldn't buy american PSN cards from them again as they obviously don't have them.

Paypal does not cover you on these websites either

What did they say when you contacted them?
I've used them so many times I'd be saddened to learn that they're/have gone bad.

The last I ordered from EF FZC (cheapxboxlivecodes or their sister sites).

They wanted me to e-mail them my ID, my telephone number, my telephone bill and to schedule a verification call for 2 UK PSN Cards I paid with paypal >:(.

Once I went home I sent an e-mail to tell them to call me (I already had sent the docs) and they just sent me the codes like everything is ok. They had me sending documents for the 2 past days.

I vowed to never order from them ever again, that's funny because I used them for instant codes not for this.

Add me to the "no problem" pile; ordered just a week or so ago for a pile of MSPoints and PSN cards ready for the Summer of Arcade and the Vita sale; came through within a day.

I'll admit I've never actually tried them with US PSN cards, and I wasn't aware of that stipulation from Paypal, which might make me a little warier in the future, but again, no issues from here.

Edit: Do you have the transaction mail from Paypal? That should at least confirm whether they have your email address or not.

Like I said a couple of days ago, I buy all my codes (XBL Gold, MS points, PSN, WoW for friends, ...) on cheapxboxlivecodes.com exclusively. Not a single problem ever.
Couple of days ago I bought 4200MSP for 29.99GBP, arrived within minutes on my email.
Sorry to hear you folks have troubles. *shrugs*

PayPal seller protection also fails to work in these situations. I thought Paypal was making a separate system for such purchases given their rising popularity. This brings me onto something.

If I'm not mistaken the reason electronicfirst.com wanted all that was because any person with stolen card details can use them (to convert their stolen money into xbla points they can flog on eBay for cheap...basically, money laundering) and when the person who had their card stolen contests the transactions and get the refund it is electronicfirst.com that loses out (or maybe PayPal, who knows and if it happens frequently they might get in trouble like how sellers can lose merchant status for too many CC refunds). By delaying the transactions or forcing them to make false documents its a barrier to entry.

What was I getting to. Yeah few years back, card was compromised and spent in such places. Contested with bank, card canceled, got refund, then got letter saying in 10 days refund would be gone as their "investigation" found no problem. Appealed, used evidence from investigation against them (stating the PayPal ToS meaning electronicfirst are not seller protected and the fraudsters had changed most the non-postcode and house number lines of the address* thus making it impossible to receive anything if anything were sent) and all has been well since. Ironically I had a "I'll never use PayPal" thing going after that but just now I needed to use it for international money transfer as bank transfer (SWIFT) is expensive.

*-CC verification only checks those two things.

Of course it might be more of a problem for De4th Strike to make headway since its one transaction, card has not been compromised.

Just wondering... I placed an order (2 games actually) with Zavvi, and it says that it will be dispatched withing 30 days. Will they actually send anything or its just a different way to say the games are gone?

You'll get an email when your games have been sent out. They may have run out of stock without making that clear quickly enough, so you might have to wait a while longer.

Got an email offer from Sony this morning. Get a Sony VISA card and get a years free PS+, and earn 10x points on PSN purchases. Seems something that might be worth doing, just keep it as a PSN only card, which also has security benefits
