Yeah I really want to buy one next month with U4, but I know if I want to upgrade to Neo, the second hand value of the unit will tank post e3, let alone the retail price.

This is my slight worry with my PS4. But, mine is the 20th Anniversary Model, so I'm hoping I'll be able to wait it out until the Neo launches and still be able to trade in without losing any money ( Perhaps even making a profit).

Of course I have to make the decision of whether the sentimental value of the 20th Anniversary model, overrides the improvements the NEO will give to the games I like. It was all fun and games when I managed to score this thing, but the novelty has worn off.

That is a tough decision, I would keep the 20th anniversary edition and get a Neo as well making an effort, I have the metal gear edition one and have similar doubts D:

OT: where did you get it?

I wouldn't sell it either. A 20th anniversary is like Xbox crystal, it's it's a bond destined to last for eternity man.

Holding constant various factors, relative to a standard black or white model, I don't think you'll come off too badly. As for selling it, I would definitely deliberate over it a lot, as it's a relatively uncommon system to have.

With the console model likely to change to iterations, it's going to play into resale values of truly rare LE systems for those not in the hoarding business (ie those who own one copy of a system, LE or standard) as consumers looking to potentially pay a premium early on for a collectable will trade off the 'rarity' with the certainty that there's a newer model on the way within several years.

If an individual knew the Neo was due (built into your expectations) generation, would they have paid such a premium for a anniversary PS4, out just settled for the basic version?

That's a fair point. Like, THE premiere PlayStation 4 LE is going to be (in comparison) the shittier PS4 soon, and not just in terms of physical dimensions like most mid gen refreshes.

So exactly 4 weeks and 1 day after it was shipped and a few days after GameSeek gave me a refund, my copy of Mario Party 9 arrived today. I feel a bit bad about it considering I got the refund but then I remember how unhelpful they have been, plus it is a month late (and I paid postage like seriously). Not sure what to do now. I'm short on cash now so the refund was helpful, I feel like maybe giving the value to a charity down the line to take the guilt off? I still don't think GS deserve the money after the amount of people they've screwed but I feel bad about getting it free.

Sorry I know this isn't exactly chatting about a deal lol.

Just keep it. Sounds like they gave you a dreadful experience, especially if you paid for posting. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Not sure I'd go that far lol, but yeah, I don't really want to sell my 20th Anniversary console either.

I don't really want to spend any money on buying a Neo though. x.x

It's probably going to be that I just don't buy it, and I'm going to cancel my PSVR pre-order as well. NEO kind of confirmed my doubts about the PSVR struggling on ps4. :/

I have no sympathy for GS whatsoever. Don't care if you come clean and refund them or not.

But seriously, giving something to charity down the line is a terrible excuse not to pay them back.

Tell them that it has arrived.

Just tell them you got it when you have the money to pay them back. Just because they wronged you, doesn't mean you need to get revenge on them as others have suggested.Stealing is stealing, they're a business so they can eat the cost but it's still not a very ethical thing to do, you wouldn't do the same to a person.
Be the better person since you're already half way there with the guilt.

OT: where did you get it?

GAME. When they did the website quiz thing for 5 days in December 2014. Basically at a certain time each day that week, they and PS would tweet a clue, and there was an image macro with hundreds of PlayStation/3rd party characters on it. The clue would correspond to one of those characters. If you clicked the correct character, it took you to the form where you fill in name and email and address and phone number. If you were the first 100 to respond, you would get an email confirming the next day and then a phone call later by a guy at GAME who would process your payment over phone and then it would be delivered the next day by DPD. After that I sold my launch black model to my friend for £250.

So fastest 100 people on each day would win (lol) the right to buy an Anniversary console ( £399.99 IIRC). I attempted it on every day and was only successful on the 2nd day. The clue was something like " This guy is a music icon". The answer for the clue was Parappa. I stupidly clicked Buzz! first like a moron, thankfully I didn't lose too much time.

Originally I was going to go to the pop up store Sony made in Central London, which was a week before the website promotion. The first 100 people to queue up there got the console for £19.94 and then the next 150 people got it for full price IIRC.

If I had left home at the time I found out about that, I would have made it within the first 100, but my parents were scared about me lining up in that part of town through the night and dissuaded me from going ( and cost me £480.05 lol).

After retelling that story, I feel less like selling this thing now.

Yes, I feel less like selling it now. I'll just keep it as a mantelpiece kind of thing.

Well apparently, amazon lost my copy of Luigi's Mansion 2 =(, It supposed to arrive the 19th ,and now they don't have stock again.

Amazon chat:
Kamala: I have checked with the order and saw that the tracking shows the order is in transit now.
I'm really sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.
It seems that the item was lost in transit.
I see that the item is not stock with us.
So I will issue full refund now for this order.

I'm asking if I can wait for a restock instead of getting a refund months later.

That name literally means "horrible" in Finnish. I guess that's appropriate considering your situation.

I had an even worse experience, between the time I placed my order for the game and the time it actually shipped my credit card expired and I forgot to update my order with the new number, since the old one bounced back they simply cancelled the order without warning me that had happened. Tried to complain about it on live chat but ended up without the game.

Was that for the cheap £8 copy? I got mine like 5 weeks ago, what was the hold up?

I have a similar problem, but they asked me before sending it last week to update my card, and it went ok, did you manage to solve it?

Yes, that one. No idea, Amazon bureaucracy?

My cheap Luigi's Mansion copy got lost a few weeks ago as well. I got a replacement. My cheap Majora's Mask 3D also never arrived, but the replacement did.

Yeah you're right. Thanks guys.

No they said they warned me beforehand that the game was about to be shipped and hold themselves to that mail in their defense that I had been warned about the game being sent soon, despite mentioning nowhere that my card had been refused prior to the cancelling. I just got tired of walking in circles and simply dropped it, haven't ordered anything from amazon uk since then, I'm not holding a grudge but there's not been any sale that got my interest.

Might tickle your fancy. Oh yeah, it's aMIIbos.
They probably will have already claimed the insurance. It's not like you give it back to them, then they'll give the money back to Royal Mail or whoever. Just keep it, plus if it took that long the carrier probably deserves the hit.
Fuck no. Talk around it all you want, stealing is stealing.
PS: I think your tagging is a dick move.

Anyone know the best place to buy a cheap, official Sony DS3 controller delivered to the UK? Need a controller for my PSTV.

Bought one from a seller on eBay and surprise, surprise, it was a fake. Wouldn't be so bothered if it actually worked, but it only worked through the USB data cable and not wirelessly through bluetooth. So many going around on eBay, difficult to tell what is genuine (if any are!).

Cheapest I can find genuine are about £40. At that rate, I'd be as well buying a DS4, that could be used as a second controller for my PS4 as well.

Any help would be appreciated!

I've been trying to sell my MGS V limited PS4 through gumtree and done deal and the like, I've had 3 scam offers (like the ones that say if you ship to fucking Africa or the middle east I will paypal you the money) and a million fucking swap ones all saying 'swap for my shitty broken car/PS3/useless iPad, etc. Selling privately is super annoying.

It probably depends where you are as well, but writing no offers, I normally get the price I asked for. Any spam I'd rather have since it gets me more money and saves me having to go to cex, game or the post office etc. The ps4s sold within a day though since they were normal ones and I didn't receive spam for them, my tablet on the other hand I got quite a few since it was up for like 2 months.

I sold my launch 3DS via a 2nd hand site and I got plenty ridiculous offers as well, I asked 40 euros since it's so old even though it worked perfectly, but since people were interested I ended up selling it for 55. Anyway, some people had the nerve to ask stuff like 'hi I will give you 20 for it, but you can keep the SD card since you can sell that for 20 separately" ... Girl please.

Someone on GAF might buy it? Or are we not allowed to sell on here?

I have a mint white N3DS with faceplates I need to get sold soon. On FW 9.2. Need to see what these are going for. Upgraded to a 3DSXL before I moved house and haven't gotten around to selling it yet.

Adverts? I haven't sold anything that big there but I've had grand luck selling lots of other things there. You're normally covered pretty well from spammers, Gumtree is pretty much anonymous so you can post whatever the fuck you want there but here you have feedback pages and stuff (maybe Done Deal is the same, I'm not sure, but I still see a lot of shit there the few times I enquire about stuff or see listings). You can list it for free anyway but if it's over €29 they do ask for a fee like eBay so I dunno.

Gamestop won't give you a refund then?

I've had it up, not much response to it.

Something weird is up with playasia's shipping.

This was about 12 months ago now, but I ordered a few games, a controller and a fightstick, totaling £200 ish, from Playasia. They rejected the order because my card doesn't accept foreign transactions without explicit authorisation (a phone call from the bank usually).

That was fine at the time, I just left it. But then I got an email a coupe of days later saying it was being shipped by UPS (or some other service, I don't recall).

About 2 weeks later everything turned up without charge. I had to pay the shipping tax but that is all.

So somewhere in their system they are registering orders as ready to ship, before they even confirm payment. Seems pretty silly!

PS+ membership expires in a few weeks so you guys know why I'm here...

I can find a year for £33 on eBay. Anything better guys?

Not cheaper per se but you get a £20 PSN card with this, plus a chance to win an anniversary PS4 alongside the 12 month voucher, so the value proposition is greater if you ever use PSN credit.

http://www.365games.co.uk/ps4-point...grUTzoWwuQrB9DplDooxkeAsVVuqSjfIDPRoCPwDw_wcB

You might be able to find it cheaper, they had them on sale at Smyth's toys for £35 at one point.

Thanks guys!

Might go with the 365games deal as I will use the £20 credit eventually so it's basically PS+ for £27 (plus the DVD case thingy)

Only thing is I swear I've never heard of the site before...I take it they're reputable?
