What is this Flubit that you guys have been talking about recently? Is it new? I'm going to check it out.

EDIT: Holy shit, these guys right here:

You're from our favourite country of them all, Sweden!

We love where you're from, the people, the ground, the sky, the buidings. The weather where you're from is just how we like it too! We love the fact that you're currently here. Where you're from is amazing!

However we are traditionalists, which means we want to leave the best until last. Therefore we are not going to be creating better offers on the products you want until we have gone to a few more not so great places.

If however you are just visiting where you're from or on holiday (you have great taste by the way) you can still enter the website and use us. Just remember, we can't deliver any products to where you are!

Stop... just... stop. Words can't express. I get it, they want to kiss my arse and they want me as a customer in the future, but this is just ridiculous. But yeah, guess they're of no use to me. They're saving the best until last, and will go to a few more not so great places first. I'm flattered.

Oh, and they misspelled buildings. But that's okay.

Okay, so I went ahead and ordered Bioshock Infinite from The Hut. My budget was already broken so I might as well make it worse. Watch it be like £20 next week. Anyway, The Hut has the weirdest checkout I've seen. Like how it asks me for my "house name/number" and then my street address. House name? Is that a thing in UK? But okay, never mind name, but why would you enter the number in a separate field? It doesn't make sense. I don't even know if I did this the right way. Guess we'll see if the game arrives or not. The Hut supports Paypal though so that's great.

That's a pretty standard question, yeah.

I don't know what you did, but my account address looks like this:

Maybe you used paypal for checkout, idk.

Fuck, I wish Flubit would work down here as well. Also, I wasn't amused by that "sorry" message in the slightest, guess I'm just a grumpy old man

That's a pretty standard question, yeah.

Who names their house? "My house is called Bill". No, I understand that it's not like that, but give me an example of a house name. I've never heard of such a thing, except for famous buildings.

Yeah, I always use Paypal when I have the option, but I don't see what that has to do with it. I've used Paypal on man webstores and never seen that. I was asked to create a membership on The Hut. I assume that's the regular form on The Hut nowadays.

Why do we give our houses names?

House naming started many years ago with rich people naming their homes. The rich named their Halls, Houses, Manors, Castles, and Lodges according to ancestry, location, and family titles: Norfolk House (Duke of), Belvoir Castle (overlooking the Belvoir Valley); Castle Droge (named after a 13th ancestor) etc. Gradually over the years other people began to give names to their homes too.

All houses in towns and cities have a number. Very few have just a name and majority do not have names.

Some old houses genuinely do have names as they were built in small villages before the postal system so numbers weren't necessary. However people also give their modern home names in an attempt to emulate the exclusivity.

Some examples here.

My childhood home had a name as well. It's pretty common in the UK.

Anyway I'm not sure what the catch is with Flubit but the savings look decent so I'm willing to give it a try.

House names are more common in the countryside and are quite commonly used rather than "numbers" (my home has one as do most of our neighbours e.g Redbrae (a reference to an old name for that area)).

The house number on the form is on a different line because the postcode is not always exactly specific to a particular property so when you use a postcode search tool (as many websites do) they also need the house/flat number to finish the auto-fill.

My parent's house was built in 1901 and above the door it says 'Ivy House'. It has a number as well, though. The one beside it is also called 'Beach House', presumably because of the lighter coloured stone it's made from.

Just ordered it. Paid with PayPal! Hopefully it comes tomorrow or Thursday! This is my first Fire Emblem game by the way.

Also, that Animal Crossing price on ShopTo is insane! £26 :O

I used to live in the *delightfully*-named Gore House. No, it's not the one on Wikipedia.

I happened to be brought up on a college campus, and so as well as the halls of residence being named buildings with room numbers, Gore House was a standalone single-family house which was named not numbered.

Animal Crossing £26 on ShopTo?
Yup, ShopTo is so damn good. I've switched all my preorders from Amazon to ShopTo. Both faster AND cheaper.
I preordered Ni No Kuni: Wizards Edition and got it a day early. Since then I've had stuff from their eBay outlet and a 3DS XL with Monster Hunter pre-installed.

Really impressed with them so far.
Anyone know if shopto (outside of UK) is 3 pound shipping per game or per shipment?
Hm.. not sure.

Well, I'm outside UK, so I used the £3 shipping option.

What country do you live in, and is it always £3 for games? I remember when some Collector's Edition was on sale on ShopTo quite some time ago, and when I went to check-out the shipping cost like £20. I think ShopTo charges depending on the weight, which is a bit annoying, but I don't know for sure.

Wow, damn. Nintendo games don't get much cheaper, especially ones that aren't even out yet. I've never played Animal Crossing before but I'm intrigued on joining in, so I'm planning to pick that game up. I've already ordered Dark Arisen, Bioshock Infinite and Dishonored this month though, so I'll have to get it some other time. Hopefully it doesn't go up in price.

I'm in the Netherlands and just paid 3 pounds for 1 ps3 game.

Im in Denmark.

I've never ordered more than a single game per order before, so I don't really know. I have four shipping options available (£3 being the cheapest). I assume they will charge more for bigger/more heavy items. You can always check it when ordering.

Alright, then it's most certainly the same shipping fee for me. Sounds like standard Royal Mail European shipping. All orders under 100g -- which would be any ordinary non-special edition game -- go for £3. The bad thing is that it's expensive for Europeans to buy collector's edition's, but oh well.

Thanks for the answers.

hey there,

is persona golden really that good?
the best price for it is on play-asia around 25€, or is there something cheaper?
i kinda did not get the gameplay in persona 3, so does that mean i cant click to it? would give the series another try on vita.

also searching for gravity rush. cant find it for less than 30€?

It means you probably will not get the gameplay in Persona 4.

May jump on Animal Crossing then when I get home. Would be nice to know the digital price before hand even though one can assume it will be much more. I know it has appeared on the NA ehop already.

For all intents and purposes the gameplay in Persona 4 is the same as it was in Persona 3. There are a few changes and streamlines like Persona 4 giving you full party control instead of having AI team mates, and Golden in particular really streamlines Persona fusing, but if you didn't like the core gameplay in Persona 3 then Persona 4 won't change your mind.

well i did not get the tarot-card-system. i like the music, the style, but the summoning persona stuff, i could not get into or it was too confusing... dont know if they managed it to make it easier to understand in persona 4.

amazon germany has some amazing deals:

forza horizon for 19euros

halo4 for 19euros

Yes you are. Im person who rarely find something funny on the internet and i smiled. But i wished they would ship outside UK too. Hopefully soon

Just as a follow up to my Flubit demand for used games, turns out they do not offer used items unfortunately:

"We're really sorry but at the moment we aren't creating offers for pre-owned, refurbished or reconditioned items. We are working on having this option available in the future"
