The main game has a brown filter. It is The Lost and The Damned DLC that has the gray filter.

P.S. It will not be competently remade because the physics are stuck inside an outdated engine. Still the 60fps smoothness and visual spectacle of The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC on Series consoles even at 720p with bloom is very pleasing. The PC ports have messed up frame timing that no mods can fix.

It needs more things, the LOD is busted, there is no anti aliasing at all, shadows look like crap etc. The game needs more adjustments than just performance

The funny thing is, the modding community have been fixing this stuff over the past few years, making the PC version the best now by fixing some performance issues, improving shadows a fuck load, fixing the LOD flickering, adding in extra graphical options from future Rockstar titles, etc, even adding in selectable controller options.

Hopefully for the 20th anniversary they will remaster it. Imagine it in 2028 on the PS5/6.

Although I will say playing the ballad of gay tony on ps3 is basically a remaster over the base game.

Nah, any remaster will do more disservice than improvement. What it needs is a preservation movement like the one that GOG does. It would be perfect if they launches it there.

Meh, I finished that game on PS3 last year and I honestly never want to touch it again...

Outside of its visual/performance issues, the game is just boring. There's a huge lack of mission and location diversity compared to SA, alongside less weapon, less cars, no planes, no purchasable assets, less character customisation etc. The game also controls like ass, with the vehicles all feeling like boats and the cover system being too clunky. Even the story is pretty flawed, with it starting and ending great but having a lackluster middle. I felt like giving up halfway through the mafia wars.

A remaster would be cool for those who want it, but rockstar will probably mess it up like they did with the 3D trilogy. Personally, I think the game should be left in the past.

1000% Best GTA game

San Andreas might have more of a "fun" factor but GTA IV has the better setting, best characters, and best story. The only complaint is people can't get used to the driving physics. That being said I'm a little biased as I lived in NYC for awhile and it's probably my favorite place in the world behind Japan.
