Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| We Need To Go Cheaper

I think most people agree its good due to it having the best battle system of all the tales. Story isn't the best but I do not think its terrible or anything.

Haven't played myself just parroting what I've read online.

Me too.
How is it compared to Xenoblade? I loved Xenoblade (still haven't finished that). Is the English VO well done like in Xenoblade? Memorable characters etc?

Tales is a little more Linear than Xenoblade, ie the story moves in a fairly logical order and you don't have to backtrack to do missions quite as often as Xeonblade asks of you.

Really the worst thing about it is that most of the main cast seem to take turns holding the idiot ball. You will groan as the villians cause all sorts of atrocities and the heroes keep going "WELL MAYBE HE'S JUST HAVING A REALLY BAD DAY? LOVE ALL THE HURT AWAYYYYY ;___;" - outside that I really enjoy the skits and the characters, it's just kind of a shame they are naive on a crazy level (even for RPG standards) - I mean even Oliver of Ni No Kuni is a bit more wired than Asbel and co, are at times. If you can get over that, the story is pretty solid with lots of nice twists and turns and the characters are pretty good outside the facepalm moments.

So what I'm basically getting is... the story and characters are generally shit, but the battle gameplay is awesome.

I just can't weigh up if it's all worth £20 or not. It sounds weird, but for a bit less I'd bite. £20 just seems... hmm. I rarely spend above £15 on a game nowadays so it seems risky.

Hmmm still incredibly unsure. Is it worth £20? As an actual game, is it any good? Better than Abyss (which I found distinctly average)?
It's rubbish IMO. The battle system is okay, but I don't consider that enough to sustain a 50 hour JRPG. Even the best battle system is going to get boring after hundreds upon hundreds of encounters. There needs to be an interesting story and likeable characters to make the grind worth it, and that's where Graces really falls down in my opinion. The story is entirely forgettable and the characters are nothing more than generic anime/JRPG clichés. The writing is a long, long way off the quality of Vesperia, or even Abyss.

Overall I'd say it's probably the weakest Tales game I've played. Although I haven't played the supposedly really stinky ones like Symphonia 2 or Tempest.

That helps. Cheers.
I keep getting people saying the gameplay is better than the story, but for me, story is a big part of why I play games these days. And since I couldn't put up with the characters in Abyss, and this is supposedly worse, I doubt I'll be able to cope.

It might be the special edition, but I think £20 is a tad too much to make it worth buying.

If you've missed the multiple other opportunities, Portal 2 is once again £3.74 on Steam, with the 1 and 2 bundle being £4.49. Low price for a lot of fun!

What do you guys think of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure? Flubit has beat the current Shopto offering with the price of £21.74. Is it worth that?

Flubit have offered 16% off the price of Two World's 2: Royal Edition, which I've accepted.

What a strange business model! I can only assume they have a squad of Luca Brasi style heavies who contact the company selling the item and make them an offer they can't refuse.

Okay, PAL.

lol :)

Where from? I need FC3 for under £20.

My Rising order came from Zavvi via Flubit. I still got a free Mario case!

I asked Flubit to find me a better price for Far Cry 3 than Shopto's £21.85, they came back with the offer £18.64 from Fireworks Merchant Limited which turns out is a Flubit company.

Thx.

God damn, I will bite. Hopefully it will be the SE. Strangely it says "Tales of Graces" on order page, but it links to the SE. Additionally there is just this version, no other version. Fingers crossed. And account order page says SE. I made a screenshot just in case they want to pull a zavvi on me.

Still no news on an UK release of Assassin's Creed III Washington Edition?
I'd like to buy it but £50/€60 is definitely too expensive... It looks like it was released only in Spain, Germany, France and Nordic countries.

Can anyone give me some insight into why Amazon have decided to charge me VAT after the fact, in this instance but no other? I ordered DD and Riptide ages ago (end of Jan) when both were cheaper, could that be the source of the error?

What do you think the price for Dead Island Riptide was before? Because the Dragon's Dogma price is the cheapest it has ever been. So that part of the equation is not changed.

They haven't charged you extra. It's just the way they've broken down the numbers.

£13.99 + £31.75 = £45.74, which is the total that they charged you.

For some reason, even after the screencap, I was reading that as £54! Been a long day clearly, cheers guys ><

For anyone that cares btw; Tomb Raider CE just came back in stock at GAME. Ordered that along with Tales. TR CE is going for a hefty sum on Ebay right now so I'd snap it while it's there.

Anybody know what Fire Emblem is going-for in the supermarkets?

Should be around £35. Another decent place to get 3DS games on launch day is Toys 'R Us, they had Luigi's Mansion 2 in stock for £32 whereas Asda didn't. Anywhere that isn't GAME really, which is always £39.99

So with Flubit when I make a demand but before they've made an offer it should appear in my demands, right?

As the last demand I have done did not do that. I got the confirmation e-mail but hitting the link to make changes brings me to the sort of message I'd get if I had looked at someone elses demand.

I could just leave it another 12 hours (how long it should have remain) to see if I ever get an offer (but if I did would I be able to accept it due to it thinking the demand is not for me) or should I remake the offer using a different browser.

Only odd thing is the timer didn't show up when making the demand (I've not changed browsers so this baffles me, the only change is I was logged in when making this recent one), the box remained blank. I left it for a few minutes too...

That was one stock alert I wasn't expecting this morning from Game. Metroid Prime: Trilogy. It was a bit buggy when I was trying to order, so who knows if I will get it. Or if I do get it what the condition will actually be like. But at £14.99, I will take the risk:

Damn you! Damn you all!

Congrats!

Haha, thanks. It's definitely worth while setting up multiple stock alerts for items you're interested in. Even if it is unlikely they will ever come back in stock, you never know. I just hope it comes in decent shape if it is sent out.
