I've had mixed results with pre-orders from ShopTo. Starhawk+my PS3 turned up on release day, Dragon's Dogma turned up 3 days early, and Assassin's Creed 3 turned up a day late.

More positive than negative, though.

You'll get it on the day before release. Or at least that's what's always happened in my experience over the years.
 
Zavvi sent me a nice email confirming the cancelation of my order of Sonic Racing 3DS was successful. Of course, I never asked to cancel it. So it looks like that £15 was a misprice.

Ah well, it will be that price or cheaper soon enough, and it won't be Zavvi getting the order.
 
Yeah I put a pre-oder in for Persona 4 yesterday with the Second Shop and noticed they guaranteed delivery for release or would credit me with £5. Good job.
 
So more of a query here then anything else. Has anyone here ever pre-ordered something from GAME online and never been charged? If so, what happened? Never had something like this happen before.

How long ago did the item get sent out? If it's recent , it might just be a case of your bank/card statement being slow to update. This is probably the case

If it is recent, and it still doesn't appear after a while, if you're feeling particularly virtuous, I suppose you could email game about it and they could send game an e-mail about it and they could probably do something about it.

If it was me, I might *forget* to mention it to them, nudgenudgewinkwink.

However, really, I think the charge is probably just slow in showing. They don't normally send items out until they've successfully charged your account in some manner.
 
Linkstrikesback: Well it's weird because it's from a larger order (pre-ordered about half a dozen titles before Christmas) and after they already sent and charged me for the first title in that list, I'm beginning to think it's an error on GAME's part.

They shipped me a copy of DS3 last week and charged my account the £ relative to a copy DS3 + a copy of the Aliens CE. When the charge cleared it was just the amount for DS3. So now I have a collectors edition, which they acknowledge having sent, but havn't charged me for lol

It's been about 4 days since dispatch so I'm holding my breath that nothing happens and that this is the gaming gods looking at the review scores and throwing me a bone.

EDIT: So I just got charged for my Colonial Marines CE :/ Really contemplating returning it now. What's the chance it bomba's as bad as Duke Nukem's? Judging from the availability of it, I'm guessing it was overprinted as well.
 
Is there a thread on GAF for asking, if someone could order something for someone else and ship it to them? IP Man 2 just dropped to 7pounds on asda.com, their delivery is free of charge, but they only ship to UK :/

Or is there some sort of commercial relay service like the ones in Japan, that is able to receive packages and forward them to another location?

Select "Online Game Code" from options, and in your account options change your "Billing Address" to an American location. Amazon will then sell you the code for that price. Subscriptions codes are universal, and will work in Europe even if they are sourced from US.
 
Yakuza Dead Souls (PS3) - around 7pounds

use coupon code HORROR10 to get 10% off 8pounds.

I can't really recommend this game, but well it's just 7pounds. If you can handle bad controls and also really love Yakuza and I mean really really love, then well go for it. Otherwise better don't. The randomized underground levels are quite fun though.

Someone on HUKD says it is the follow-up to the site that had to close down when people got their Paypal account closed. Does anyone remember the name of the site? It's bugging me.

Thanks for that! I've never had issues with them thank heavens. I've even had games come days early from them! Blasphemy!
