Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| With Or Without EU

It's still on the website and says it should last until next Sunday, and works on a FIFA 18 preorder I tried as a test, so I don't think that's it.

Mario Oddysey's dropped back down on Amazon, but does anybody have any idea why the VG5OFF35 code won't work?

They made it not eligible for this offer. The code has to be listed in the special offers section of the product's page.

That's what I was told when I used their support chat to try and get them to deduct the coupon from my existing pre-order. (They wouldn't do it.)

I couldn't get the code to work at all for some reason yesterday, but with Mario Odyssey the game isn't part of the promotion - there's a list of eligible games from the promotion page. The promotion itself lasts until next weekend.

Re Gameseek, I was fortunate enough to get a copy of Mario Odyssey this morning. It seems that a lot of the deals actually reset at around 45 minutes to an hour before the countdown suggests - this was the case with Mario Odyssey.

Have TGC delivered later than usual for anyone else? I got UC on release day which isn't an issue, but they're always a day early so this was alarming.

Anyone?

Yeah, this has been discussed a few days ago here - it seems that they're delivering for release day rather than early with greater frequency for many. I'd say that calling it "alarming" is a a bit hyperbolic, though.

I'm pretty irritated with TGC honestly.

M+R didn't arrive. Figured it wouldn't since they didn't ship it till Saturday. I don't think they realise how much a bank holiday delays Royal Mail.

I mean I get they don't want complaints from companies about people receiving games early, but then you have this problem where they're so afraid that they end up delivering late.

Lesson learned, can't trust TGC anymore for release date delivery.

It's alarming that they're now missing release date I'd say.

I feel like this is the second time recently that TGC have missed a release day for me, but I'm willing to let it slide thus far as both pre-orders in this case were put in pretty late on my end.

Yep, TGC didn't get Rabbids to me for today either. Disappointing and another example of why I tend to avoid physical games.

Has anyone ordered from Play-Asia using the "Airmail with customs clearance to your destination country"?

I emailed their CS and they told me that they won't be responsible for extra charges that may be collected from customs in my country so I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this new method.

Tried it with my Tachyon Project pre-order. If it works as it should work, you would not have to pay any extra charges upon arrival. But as it is now, I can't tell yet if it works correctly.

My copy's late too - pretty much what I expected given the Saturday dispatch. "Disappointing" is the word that I'd use rather than "alarming", but either way it's not a good direction. Ah well, I guess that this evening will be the Uncharted platinum and, if it downloads in time, a bit of XCOM 2: War of the Chosen. Is there anyone here who *did* get their copy on time from TGC?

This one instance won't in itself change my usage of them for future pre-orders, but I tend just to go with the best price anyway. The next game that I have due from them is Dishonored, so we'll see how that goes...

Edit: a few complaints showing up on Twitter unsurprisingly. From one response:

Very sorry to hear this. We couldn't ship earlier unfortunately. Apologies for not doing better on this occasion.

They make it sound like their hand was forced in some manner

Everyone else had copies sent out earlier though, so it must be something exclusive to them.

Well there's no way they're moving from Friday to Saturday or Monday on a normal week delivery optionally. There's either just been words or they're withholding stock late.

I wouldn't be shocked if they're smaller than Simply with how long Simply have been going and publishers can throw their weight around without a loss of sales.

Simply basically told Activision to fuck off in a PR when they sent out a public statement threatening early Call of Duty shipments.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying their hand isn't being forced by something, I'm saying that said something isn't affecting others.

Publishers need get with online pre-order needs, if releasing on a Tuesday need allow retailers to ship on Friday, allowing 2 working days delivery. Especially if a bank holiday. If some arrived Sat or Mon so be it.

The ones mandating Monday dispatch are the worst, post office always busier on Monday so very likely will not arrive next day/release day.

Amazon Germany are trolls. Mario and Rabbids was 56 Euros on day of the release, now it's 50 Euros. Really transparent what they're doing here. And the pre-order bonus of 2 Euros isn't even that great.

Order again and send it back?

Not necessary. Just got the mail, they're refunding the difference.

For this order I used a 5 Euros discount (you got it if you installed their Chrome plug in for one order only) in addition to the 2 Euros Prime discount, so my total discount was 7 Euros. Now the game cost me just 43 Euros, which is pretty nice.

It was super weird that the price was 55,89 Euros anyway.

Amazon.de is just a ripoff these days. Especially for Nintendo products they charge a premium.

I was trying to do that today, and as soon as it hit 58min it resets to 48hs again =(.., so, people must be banging F5 as soon as it reaches 1hour left, lol.

Same happened to me with UK Rabbids and they automatically gave me a refund.

not sure if thread worthy but Etrian Odyssey V Beyond the Myth is ready for preorder on amazon.de,

it releases on November 3rd and costs 39.99, as expected.

I wonder if it's gone up everywhere else in European stores.

Also on Amazon.es, for 34.90 (32.90 if you have Prime).

Grr.. doesn't have the £2 prime discount. Anyone know why Amazon UK apply the £2 prime discount to some games coming out soon and not to others?

The other Amazons are applying it fine, Amazon UK is getting really annoying with their behaviour. Wish they'd stop dragging their heals on this kind of thing (erratic price matching, discount codes not working on certain items and other strange price behaviour)

I can't be certain but I think they don't add the £2 prime discount until it's close to release.

I pre-ordered Everybody's Golf a while ago and it didn't have the £2 discount, but I checked a day or two ago and it had it. Seems they don't retroactively add the discount though. Luckily I had a £6 discount from Prime Day so I'm not too fussed.

With ATLUS opening its own EU publishing arm, I think it's safe to say Deep Silver is not gonna bother with reprints for their run of these last pre-ATLUS EU ATLUS games.

I think its when they put the fresh listings up it doesn't apply until a while later rather than close to release, stuff with no release date like FF VII remake have the discount.

It was 89 EUR at Media Markt at least.

And for my Amazon UK order I only pay 75 EUR now (with a less strong Euro it still would've been about 80 EUR).

I ordered for 69 Euros at Media Markt, but these preorders were gone really fast.

Edit: my bad, was 89 and Metroid LE was 69.

Surely they have exclusive publishing rights and Atlus cannot just print their own without Deep Silver agreeing.

Unfortunately I've had the opposite experience.

I preordered both Yakuza 0 & Dragon Quest VIII before the £2 credit offer was applied and it was never added automatically, I had to contact them on both occasions to get the money back :(

Depends. If Atlus wants to have reprints, they can still do it.

They still publish the games through Deep Silver(Koch Media). It's just that Deep Silver won't do any marketing, localization and all the other stuffs. For me. The news meant nothing. Because everything will still be the same. Only you can complain/rant now at Atlus EU instead at Koch Media/Deep Silver for marketing, localization issues etc.

SNES Mini is 99€ everywhere which is pretty much a rip off compared to the price in the US.

99€ would have been lovely. However Nintendo is using a specific company for their products in Nordic countries and the RRP that company has set for the device is 149€ (in Finland, no idea about SEK/other currencies but very likely around 150€). So the cheapest SNES pre-order around here was 149€, although most stores asked more than that.

Incidentally I've been ordering all my Nintendo stuff from anywhere but Nordic countries for a while.

i wonder if they'll be doing reprints for their other games like odin sphere and P4D or if they won't be able to because nisa owns the license over here still
