Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| With Or Without EU

Anyone who has ordered from Base.com recently, could you please tell me what kind of packaging did they use for your game? Was it a hard brown envelope or a white cushy one? or an entirely different one?

Thanks

Hard brown envelope last week, like it's always been. There are third party sellers on their site, though, aren't there?

Edit: Wait, now I'm confusing myself. Is the brown envelope base or TGC?

Both TGC and Base use brown cardboard envelopes for small orders.

I got the Odin Sphere Limited Edition from TGC and was pleasently surprised with how carefully they packed it for me, with small plastic cushions and all.

Anyway, I've ordered a bunch from both stores and despite the flimsy package I never got a single game damaged from either of them.

Yeah there are.

I purchased Dragon Quest 8 and and FE: Awakening, DQ shipped on the 23rd and 2 days later, but they still haven't arrived.

The mailman will put the envelope in the mailbox if it can fit and just about anyone can take it, so I'm kinda worried because usually I would have gotten them by now. But I did notice someone else's mailbox had a white, cushy package in it, so I tried to take it out (lol) and see if it has my name on it but was unsuccessful :s

Always a hard brown envelope.

At least 2 of my TGC orders got damaged due to the poor packaging. PS3 cases that got crushed in both cases.

I contacted CS about it the first time (not really to complain, but rather to inform them about how the packaging wasn't adequate) and they gave me a bunch of those customer loyalty points of theirs iirc.

Always a brown cardboard envelope. That said I've never had any issues with them with the 10+ shipments I've had in the past year to Norway.

damn, just imported this from germany at full price.

Deep silver are such a joke of a company. Tried to buy the UK version of this, but they undershipped so it's impossible to buy only two months after release, their contact email address ignores queries, and amazon uk apparently think they will never reprint the uk version.

They dropped the ball even harder with SMT IV: Apocalypse, it's near impossible to get that pretty much anywhere in europe.

It's back for the moment. Finally was able to snatch one.
Thanks for the mention. I checked and Root Letter, whose fortune seems to be tied to this game for some undetermined reason on that site, was also back in stock and I was finally able to complete an order.

^
I just ended up getting the standard edition of Root Letter for £15 of Base.
I was just scoundered by how Game is handling it. Like do they literally put like 15 copies on sale every 48 hours at this point?

a friend works there, she told me, some japanese games dont even break even, its just for pleasing fans over here in europe.

i told her the same a few months ago. i really hope persona 5 will ship many units, but she is not in the team who is handling that game.

just got an email from amazon, my switch preorder got bumped up to the 3rd after it being changed to the 4th

thanks amazon :)

So does that mean no chance at all at a SMT IV Apocalypse reprint? If so, good thing I secured a copy.

her team takes care of western releases, but said that japanese releases are taken care in a much worse way than they should. she is not allowed to tell more details, other than in her opinion the japanese releases are handled in a bad way.

:(

I'm actually not surprised to hear that.

I figured that might be the case with SMT4 and 7th Dragon. It's why I went to the trouble of pre-ordering them instead of waiting. Didn't expect there to be a big print run.

There's a difference still between "not expecting a big print run" and the game being sold out everywhere a mere 2 months after release. :-)

what would be a good price to sell a OG PS4 at? controller was replaced with the wave after launch that had better stick rubber
am i crazy for thinking £150 would be a good price?

Sure, but I still expected it could happen hence why I got them lol. :P Also at a lot of places they were actually sold out day 1, never mind 2 months.

Like they released them both on the same day, with very little word to anyone. It really is like they just wanted to chuck them out into the wild.

The interesting thing is the two game weren't even in the usual 3DS cellophane seal either.

I got £150 for mine at the start of December using gumtree. Think somewhere between 15-20 people got in touch, mostly low-ball offers, trades and people who just vanished upon responding so it was a bit of a pain in the ass.

You can still get it from a few select Amazon or Ebay for the standard retail price.

After reading about in on here, I got both games this week from local retail stores, so there's still some copies out there for sure. But what is left, is likely the very last of it. If you want a new copy of these games at the standard retail price, it's sort of now or never.

Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault (PS Vita) £7.70
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B019MIS2LE/

Totally worth it. Not a must own game, but it's definitely enjoyable, and that is a fine price.

As another member stated before, I kind of predicted that this would be the case and got them both day one despite not having the time to play them right now, people give NISA EU shit sometimes but they generally provide decent ammounts of the games they publish.

It's NIS America Europe. And don't you forget it. ;-)

My only gripe with NISA are their prices, really. Hard to get their games at considerable discounts. And the silly shipping costs if you order through their online store.

Oh, woops, missed the A there, edited. Yeah they charge a ton to ship from their store, even regular games have high shipping costs (£5 I believe). Oh well, at least you managed to get both RPG's.

I sold mine for £160 (1TB) in December. Had loads of hassle with Gumtree pulling my listings so ended up selling it through the marketplace system on Facebook. Was surprisingly painless and no eBay fees or worries about fraud

Sold my vanilla 500GB PS4 for £150 a couple of days ago, local word-of-mouth sale with no fees.

Is there any way to check quidco for how much cashback should have been on an item? The Xbox one S I bought last year is tracking at £3.83 and just got confirmed at that amount, but I'm sure they had a special rate on when I bought it - £10 or something (wouldn't have bothered with quidco otherwise). Or do I have to make a note/take a screen grab every time I buy through them?

Edit:
Bough xb1S from Microsoft store. £229 with FIFA 17, halo 5, for a horizon 3.

£23 cash back from quidco today on Xbox from that store, so £206. Will sell all three games so should easily clear £56 making the Xbox £150 overall

The trick apparently is to post in here so you can refer back to it :p

Has anyone mentioned this tweet from a few days ago. (I know Gameseek had this price ages ago)

@Gameseek Nintendo Switch back on sale £198.50 at GameSeek.

You can only set up a stock alert, but are they actually going to do this? Has to be a catch somewhere...doesn't there?

I think you have to pay up front with them rather than paying when it gets sent.

And as it's a publicity stunt now, they'll probably have like 3 at that price or something.

Almost certainly. All the other online stores are rigidly sticking to £280 so there can't be much room to manoeuvre on the price.

Congrats to Gameseek on the couple hundred new account registrations and some angry tweets coming their way sometime in the future I guess.
