Trilogy means we get the whole thing instead of the 2 or so hours we got from the original film sounds all well and good, but there are about a million ways to screw this up and having Nolan on board as anything doesn't necessarily reduce that number.

Will it be good? The possibility exists, but it's more guaranteed at this point to be an absolute shitshow. Either way it'll be entertaining to watch the reactions.

Akira's best qualities are aesthetic/stylistic. Transferring that successfully to live-action will need a complete re-imagining. I don't think a Speed-Racer-esque adaptation would work. On the other hand I wouldn't want a 'grounded' version either.

So now that we are talking about this movie again, let's discuss casting. If Nolan did produce this project, and stayed with an asian cast, who could be cast? It of course would need english speaking asian actors.
