Chuck Palahniuk working on graphic novel sequel to Fight Club

Palahniuk confirmed the project on his official fan site, writing, “It will likely be a series of books that update the story ten years after the seeming end of Tyler Durden. Nowadays, Tyler is telling the story, lurking inside Jack, and ready to launch a come-back. Jack is oblivious. Marla is bored. Their marriage has run aground on the rocky coastline of middle-aged suburban boredom. It’s only when their little boy disappears, kidnapped by Tyler, that Jack is dragged back into the world of Mayhem.”

Sounds like trash, but I'll probably check it out anyway.

If this gets Fincher, Pitt and Norton back for the sequel adaptation that will be better than the graphic novel, I'm in.

I remember reading Fight Club and feeling like I was wasting my time. But somehow the movie is great

It's amazing how much better the movie actually is

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
I thought Jack wrote the books in the house, Norton was "Narrator"?

Or did he do those? Maybe I just forget

Yes, I was about to say the same thing, however I just checked the script to make sure and in the script he's referred to as Jack and the books are about Joe but in the movie they are about Jack and he's not named.

The thing about Chuck is there are nuggets of brilliance in everything he does, but the whole thing never really gels into something cohesively brilliant.

The last thing I read from him was Lullaby, which has to be close to 10 years old now. I'm kind of curious to see where his head is at now.

I got the bird from the cover of Lullaby tattooed on my forearm. Fun book.

I don't know why Palahniuk would do this. What the fuck is he thinking?

I'm down.

Though I can't picture Jack and Marla as married suburbanites with a kid.

I picture them more like living in Paper Street and just fucking random people and they have a rebellious bratty kid who sleeps in the flooded basement.

I met Chuck Palahniuk when I was in school. Seemed pretty nice and talking about this crazy fitness regimen and steriods stories. He signed my copy of Fight Club. I think he was talking about the creative process and was writing for GQ or something about life on a naval submarine or something.
Besides Choke, Survivor and Fight Club, I wish he wrote more articles.

Chuck Palahniuk is writing the second part of Fight Club. It won't be a new film (yet?)—Dark Horse is publishing this new story in a 10-issue maxiseries illustrated by Cameron Stewart, starting in 2015.

Fight Club 2 takes place alternately in the future and the past. It picks up a decade after the ending of his original book, where the protagonist is married to equally problematic Marla Singer and has a 9-year-old son named Junior, though the narrator is failing his son in the same way his dad failed him.

At the same time, Palahniuk says readers will have an idea of Tyler's true origins. "Tyler is something that maybe has been around for centuries and is not just this aberration that's popped into his mind."

Palahniuk brings back most of the characters in the first book as well as the organization Project Mayhem, which still has its hooks in the narrator as he has to save his boy when the youngster's life is in peril.

might be good? who knows...

i read fight club, survivor and choke

fight club is the only one that really entertained me :<

not sure if wants this. he seems to be running dry on his social commentary edgy stories

...but moneyyyyyy ..... who can say no to mo' moni

Oh, Chuck. I went on a Chuck binge around 2004, and I think the last book I read by him was Snuff. I really wish they'd make Survivor into a film. I really liked that book.

It was supposed to be. But I don't think it ever got anywhere. Would have made a great film in the right hands.

And on topic, I can't say this interest me, even as a longtime fan of Palahniuk.

Just read some shit about how Tyler might be an entity that's been around for centuries and my interest in this is plummeting. I also thought the movie was superior to the book though I feel like they both have the fault of selling the project mayhem thing way too hard to impressionable guys.

Crossing my fingers though that Fincher announces he's gonna adapt the sequel and brings out Pitt and Norton at CC. THAT would be a pretty big fucking deal. Though, again the premise sounds kinda dumb. Think Fincher could turn it around tho.

So, kind of like Dexter's "Dark Passenger" in the books from what I've been told?

Not sure if want.
