Fuck, just stop Chuck.

Tyler isn't Pennywise.
He isn't around for centuries and he isn't trying to get little kids like Pennywise does.

Now I'm sad :<

The movie underperformed in the box office. It didn't become popular until it hit DVD and then it became a cult hit.

I don't think he'll be able to recapture the magic. And the way the previous one ended, I don't exactly see how he can do a sequel.

But I will try to keep an open mind because he is very interesting writer and the idea of this is FAR more appealing than yet another cartoon superhero movie, old TV turned into movie, or Nth sequel movie.

Eh was with it till the centuary old spirit shit. Sucks that movies based off Chucks books seem to bomb at box office. I loved choke and fight club and wished he'd just write a screen play or make more articles.

I always thought there should be a sequel to the movie, set in a post-apocalyptic world where NY has actually become a jungle and what Tyler described happened: cooking an egg on asphalt, swinging from the vines of the Rockefeller building, hunting game close to the Brooklyn Bridge, etc.

Anyway, I always said the sequel to Fight Club (the book) is 12 Monkeys. It actually works. Jeffrey is Tyler in the asylum after the end of the book. Not only that but everything works; his father being a rich business man, him trying to free the animals as his Project Mayhem redux, with his "army of monkeys" to boot. Space monkeys.

I guess this is a sequel to the movie. It doesn't really make sense as a sequel to the book.

In any case, it sounds pretty awful.

Synopsis doesn't sound interesting, but loved FC and only really want this to happen so that a sequel will be made to the first film as well and the godforsaken dust brothers can get up off their asses and finally release another album of their own shit. screw you dust brothers :(

EDIT: hmm interesting, Chuck and Fincher will be involved in a Fight Club panel at comic con next month

I liked the movie better than the book anyway, but Tyler Durden as a supernatural entity = uuuuuurgh. Cameron Stewart is rad so I'll check out the comic anyway though

Here's the teaser artwork for the Fight Club graphic novel:

So apparently, the Narrator is going by the name of Sebastian now.

Comic Book Resources spoke with Cameron Stewart, who's handling interior artwork for the comic series, about the pressures of following up on the cultural phenomenon that Fight Club became. Most people were introduced to Tyler by David Fincher's 1999 film, which presented some challenges while also lending Stewart and Co. artistic flexibility. "The thing I find really liberating about it is that, because it's a sequel to the novel, not to the film, we have a little bit more freedom to play with the visuals," Stewart said. "It's a good thing and it's a bad thing, because the film is so ingrained in popular culture the image of Tyler Durden is Brad Pitt — and we cannot make it look anything like Brad Pitt for various legal reasons."

Instead of a famous Hollywood actor, Tyler now looks a whole lot more like a superhero: Thor. "He's supposed to have that kind of hairstyle," Stewart explained, referring back to Palahniuk's original novel as proof. "I thought that putting him in the Jesus position with the longer hair was a good way to introduce that concept to the new audience." It'll be some time before Fight Club 2 (which Palahniuk has already finished writing) will hit comic racks, however; Stewart says he's only now "just doing layouts for the first issue." The series will debut next May.

I'm curious. The film is superior to the book, so I'm kind of "ok" with this idea. If a sequel were to be commissioned though, then please for the love of god call it anything but "Fight Club 2" or even have the word "Fight Club" in it.

I wrote to Chuck years ago, and I still have the box he sent back. My power animal is still in there, along with a plastic carrot, among other things.

I loved Haunted; I think that would make a good film but it would need the right artistic vision and decent understanding of the themes and ideas explored to make it work. The ending definitely needs to be handled carefully.

The cover art is fantastic. As for writing a sequel to Fight Club...there are some stories that are perfect as one-and-done and attempting to drag them out with sequels is a huge mistake. Fight Club is probably one of them.

On the other hand, when it was announced that Richard Linklater was making a sequel to Before Sunrise, there was huge outrage at Linklater making such a huge mistake. He was ruining Before Sunrise, a lovely movie depicting one amazing, unforgettable night in the lives of two young people. Before Sunset was not only a worthy sequel, it was arguably better than the original movie. People were also going off on the existence of a Fargo TV show and that was fantastic as well.

Any concept can work, it's all in the execution. I really liked Fight Club, so I'll probably pick up the first issue and check it out. That should be enough to decide whether this was a really bad idea or a pleasant surprise.

I highly doubt it will be any good since the novel itself was completely average, everything about it was improved upon by the film.

Wait Brad Pitt was a centuries old demon? And he kidnaps Norton's son? Like in a Taken movie?

I thought Fight Club was meant to be like a metaphor?

I'm excited. The art is awesome, Chuck's novels keep coming out and are mostly still at the quality level they were 15 years ago.

I still can't picture them married, though I read the preview.
