Circana: In the US, PS5 accounted for 47% of total Black Friday week hardware unit sales, Switch 2 for 24%, and NEX Playground for 14%

I have to believe he is doing this just to high five his buddies in a group chat claiming that he upset the PlayStation Fanboys 😂
We are in a veritable frenzy of them "pearls"......

And nobody wants to talk about how the PS4 was $199 at this point "launch aligned".
Exactly. PS4 was 50% cheaper that fall launch aligned. PS5 is...50 bucks cheaper. There's a big gap there.

For these to be on the same boat PS5 would need to cost 200 bucks for the digital edition and the disc version at 250. We are nowhere near those prices.

I may laugh but its ridiculous how Xbox and MS just let hardware sales go like that...
I don't think so? Many companies have come and gone in the console business. Sega everyone knows about, but who remembers the 3DO, the Jaguar, the Neo Geo, and especially the great and wonderful Ouya? MS basically decided they were done with losing money on console hardware and boondoggle acquisitions which didn't move the hardware needle and walked away to become a regular 3rd party publisher like Sega did

Did you intentionally prompt with 'Walkman' or is the Sony Walkman just so iconic that even the AI plasters Walkman over everything when you ask it for art with Sony products?
The prompt including typos was "Somy fanboys sitting in a pool of pearls"

But quite similar results for "Playstation fanboys....", just changes everyones tshirt into PS ones, Walkman is truly the iconic hardware over the decades, before PS1 was ever born.

I think the East/West division is quite sad, in that Switch 2 is completely dominating Japan sales charts while in the Anglo world it's the PS5.

The reason it's sad is that Sony has been saturated with trash Western ideals, aesthetic, etc for ages on the recent major consoles, and it clearly isn't going to change with this extremely West-heavy balance to their market.

I'd rather see Sony invest more in Japan and South Korea game devs than depend on Nintendo. Unless they start to get more aggressive with pricing In the west (which is what is probably holding them back the most right now).

It's Japan vs others
But it always was this way, Japan is a land of portables (and now mobile).
NDS sold x1.5 of what PS2 did and even "failure" of 3ds managed to outsold it

They had the Series S at $199 either a year or two ago and it didn't so squat.
They should have bundled it with a Kinekt and a couple of mobile games, it would have done amazing! Also, a GamePass tier with 50 kiddie games for 90$ a year.

Imagine when Satya learns about it: We are in 4th place in the 3 participant race, we lost to a cheap console that only plays controller less, digital only games that you need to subscribe to get.

He will push Phil out of the window for backpedalling instead of lowering the price of the xbone.

Is a NEX Playground fan a NEX NSEX ?

Too many unanswered questions about this new hardware…
The Nex Playground is a compact, cube-shaped console (3x3x3 inches) using an Arm Cortex A-Series chip, running a customized Android OS, with 64GB storage, an ultra-wide-angle camera for motion tracking, Wi-Fi, HDMI output, and uses a Bluetooth remote for setup, focusing on active family games without controllers, powered by AC.
Key Specifications:
  • Processor: Arm Cortex A-Series SoC (System on a Chip).
  • Operating System: Customized Android OS.
  • Camera: Built-in ultra-wide-angle camera with AI motion tracking.
  • Storage: 64GB internal.
  • Connectivity: HDMI (cable included), Wi-Fi.
  • Control: Bluetooth remote (uses 2 AAA batteries, included).
  • Power: Corded electric (AC adapter).
  • Dimensions: Approx. 3 x 3 x 3 inches (7.6 x 7.6 x 7.6 cm).
  • Weight: About 0.86 lbs (390 grams).
  • Privacy: Includes a magnetic camera privacy shutter.
This is what beat xbox. The only way to get more games for it is to pay 90$ a year for their service, they have 50 more mobile games on this. If you follow gamepass appologists they're going to tell you that you get 50 games for free, don't believe their lies, subscriptions aren't free.

It's really not. I remember the last time they tried giving out huge discounts and I'm pretty sure they still lost to PS in sales. At this point it's just not worth it to them and it's actually dragging down the revenue for their division.

In 2023 the series s was something like $229 and then they had series x at $349....
