Oh nice, I have the game so looking forward to trying out the free upgrade.

Anybody know if the "enhanced edition" on PSVR2 will have the things in this remaster too or is it just an "enhanced for PSVR2" type of deal?

Cities: Skylines - Remastered puts you in charge of a growing city, from the ground-breaking of its first streets to the ever-changing needs of thousands of citizens. Design, build, and manage the city of your dreams, from public services to civic policies, and challenge yourself to grow from a simple town to a bustling metropolitan hub. Available now for Xbox Series X|S and with Xbox Game Pass.

This is a great game. I'd probably rather play it flat but I would like to try it in vr. Playing at a slightly lower angle than the standard god's eye view might be pretty cool. Get a sense of the scale and the views.

The game is an incredible time sink. Which is fine. Looking forward to more tiles though, always anoyed me with the console edition.

I do miss a proper Sim City game, but they really messed up last time.

I'm sure Cities 2 will be really awesome, and then it will be over for Sim City I guess.

My wife used to play this a lot. Then I introduced her to Anno 1800.

She tried Cities Remastered and said she wasn't she if she could still play it after having seen how living and vivid the Cities in Anno are.

Different games. One is macro, the other more micro. But can't blame her.

How good is this? Can I turn my city into a grim dark, dystopian hellscape, or is it just some happy, fisher-price style city only?

Interesting take. I've played both games a lot and Cities can be vivid as well, but you need to put in work as a player to design something vivid. Anno is a kind of "artificial" vividness, if that makes sense. The vividness in Anno is mostly preset animations whereas the hustle and bustle in Cities is more of an emergent phenomenon and a direct result of your road network design.

If you don't fulfill the citizens' needs, housing becomes abandoned, and if you want, you could build a giant dam and then channel all your poop water sewage into the damn, fill it with shit, and then delete the damn, unleashing a feces tsunami onto the unsuspecting populace.

If you mean the general graphics aesthetics, then it's fairly benign, although if you play the PC version, there's lots of mods on the Steam Workshop that have darker and more dystopian assets for you to play with.

I now want a CITY SIMULATOR crossed with the dynastic storytelling of CK and STELLARIS, with you as the Mayor across several generations of Mayor's.

Awesome. I just bought the deluxe or whatever the most expensive edition is called on a deep sale. Really wanted an update but thought it would never come. The larger build area is a godsend. This news makes me very happy.

So if I owned the orginal PS4 version ... I just need to redownload it and it should allow me to get the updated version for ps5 for free? Sounds like a deal.

Redownloaded CS on PC again. There is no other city builder that comes close and it started to itch again.
Down the modding rabbithole we go..
