Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Thought this might interest someone. Lock if old. (Yes, it means it starts in less than 10 minutes.) You can listen online too. [ Update: show's over, but you can listen again here: http://www.classicfm.com/radio/aod/?episodeId=255281 ]

On Saturday 15 March at 5pm, Howard Goodall will be playing two hours of music from the world of video games. Join him to hear about this exciting genre of music, as he plays the soundtracks to Bioshock Infinite, Halo, Super Mario, Final Fantasy and more.

cool. thanks for the heads up.

y'know my grandparents listen to classical fm religiously so i wonder what they'll think of uematsu etc

Great stuff, I'm glad the DJ is saying forget the music is from games and just listen to it as great pieces of music. I hope they play something from Shadow of the Colossus as well. Sort of got me thinking where Uematsu would sit in the pantheon of all time great composers.

I'm not feeling this version of the SMB theme, I must say. I'm glad that this is a thing though. I never thought it would be a commercial radio station doing this instead of the BBC though.

Good choices so far, I haven't listened to teh soundtrack from 3D world, so would love a final piece in the three tracks (if he plays three) to be from that.

Anyone outside the UK having an IP block: I used this postcode and can listen from Austria: CB2 4RG

Edit: Beaten.

Not sure about the SMB main tune, but Gusty Gardens from Galaxy was nice. I actually have The Greatest Video Game Music album from the London Philharmonic and there are some wonderful tunes on there. I'd love it if they played the Sonic medley.

What's this current one? Edit - Oh, it's from Broken Age.
