The problem is it feeds into a narrative the Trump people and surrogates have already been pounding. Trump's been saying she's sick. She's ill. All the surrogates have. The Fox News shows have been claiming there's something physically wrong with her and examining her every move.

This completely feeds right into this narrative they've already been hammering on. That's why it has legs.

I don't really think Trump can win, but... Some little part of my brain is worried

Yes, it's 9/11, and today wasn't a campaign stop, it was attending a 9/11 Memorial service. If she skipped that it wouldn't have quieted any alarms or silenced any critics. Fox News would have had a field day had Hillary's campaign announced beforehand she were skipping 9/11 memorial events. So, given that she's not bedridden, they decided to go ahead with the appearance.

Yeah, it ended poorly, but it feels like your argument that it shows "poor judgement" is quite a stretch. Campaigning doesn't just start and stop without consequences. You have to be absolutely sure you need to cancel an event before you do, especially one like showing up at a 9/11 memorial. They couldn't have known she would have fainted.

No, it's a gradual onset, increasing in severity over weeks to months, as opposed to suddenly walloping you over night. Mycoplasma pneumoniae is the most common cause of atypical pneumonia.

Tell me more Dr. excelsior.

I'm curious, where did the "walking pneumonia" diagnosis come from? The doctor's statement stated "pneumonia".

Did I miss a statement?
 
Pneumonia is no joke. I had it and it was the most crippling thing I've ever had. I didn't know I had it for what must have been a while, but had to go to the hospital when one day it went from being a continual phlegmy cough to hurting to breath. I still remember being able to feel the leftovers of it sliding around in my lung when I lay down or got up during the antibiotic treatment.

All the coughing and that phlegm into the water clip match a case of pneumonia. It occurred to me, as it was like seeing my old symptoms, but I had dismissed it.

Given she didnt disclose this until after fainting, it does make sense to wonder what else she may have but has yet to disclose. If you read the earlier threads it goes like:

"Hillary fainted"

"Whaaaat? This is probably just some bullshit Fox News made up."

"Here is the video."

"Oh well 80 degrees is rather hot. But she is still in perfect health!"

"Here is a letter from doctor stating pnuemonia."

"Well of course she has pnuemonia! Thats logical and nothing to worry about. Anyone would have foreseen this."

People are always willing to bend over backwards to support their candidate of choice, but this would have been less of a deal if Clinton made a habit of transparency. Of course I doubt it will make a difference in the end given her opposition (who is anything but transparent himself).

No shit. But pneumonia isn't a death sentence like it was before. Generally those weak, old and frail are most at risk of death. Clinton, while old, is in otherwise good health. Combine that with those medical advancements made since the Civil War and you actually see the point I was making.

Similar to the flu where old and weak are most at risk, but it's not exactly wiping out millions of people anymore every year.

pneumonia is not a chronic illness. Infections are not something that people generally announce unless it affects their work/etc. like we saw today. Clearly she has lupus though

... though... people were right about the syncopal episode. It was not due to cardiogenic, or neurogenic etiology. It was likely due to hypovolemia (i.e. dehydration) or vasovagal triggered from her pneumonia.

Horrible timing I feel bad for her, she needs to be fit and healthy when the debates begins. So much is at stake and Trump will exploit this for all it's worth.

It's true that people who support any candidate project and get defensive, but a more accurate dialogue is:

As I said earlier in the thread, I think candidate health is fair game and while both candidates are of a relatively advanced age for the position they're running for, and each has different red flags as to their health, there's no reason to believe either is imminently going to die and I don't view it as a serious disqualifier. Candidates have an obligation to be open about their health, although not necessarily to share even time they take an advil. I think it makes sense that people would ask about Hillary or Trump's health, I think it makes sense that the /r/the_donald-led Hillary's Health stuff has got some traction. I don't think that makes it right. I do think it makes sense for people to seek information on how serious this particular thing is and if it has implications for campaigning or governance. But people have gotta stop freaking out, regardless of why they're freaking out.

Again, I keep harping on this, but people keep blaming her for attending the 9/11 Memorial today as though she made a grievous error. I think we all know what the response from the right would have been had Hillary announced she wasn't attending. People keep acting like she knew she was going to faint there.
