Miscellany:

- Though it isn't stated explicitly, I think it is fair to assume the deal will work for previously registered copies of FEA (edit: and this is now confirmed via customer service email)

- Works for retail AND eShop copies of both games

- One $30 redemption per Club Nintendo member

- $30 can be redeemed on either 3DS or Wii U eShops

- Promo video from Atlus

Update:

We now have confirmation that previous registrations of Fire Emblem do count toward this promotion. Thanks to Skelter for emailing Nintendo.

Everyone asking about whether its retroactive I finally have confirmation!

Asked Nintendo support. I bought Fire Emblem on launch so this is great to know.

...you will be happy to know that your previous registration of Fire Emblem Awakening should count toward your eligibility...

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Sounds like it works with retail purchases. If so, this is a fantastic deal.

You should be buying both games anyway.

I dont like buying games digitally, but if I end up getting $30 im definitely gonna just go ahead and buy Ace Attorney. Thanks NOA.

Fantastic deal (really, it's basically B2G1), but until they implement an account system I'm afraid I'll pass. :(

But those seem like two really excellent games (FE definitely is).

The million dollar (or I guess thirty dollar) question is if this works on already registered copies of Awakening. It seems like it should.

Do you have to register both at once, or will it still apply if you registered Fire Emblem when it came out?

You get a code with the retail box so it should work with retail also. The 30 dollars can only be used on the e-shop though. I need to pick up some vc games anyway. I would also assume it means any copy registered before also since it has before and not between a certain date.

Fucking awesome. Everybody who got Fire Emblem, now get into the awesome SMT franchise!

Everybody who didn't get the GOTY FE Awakening, get it now!

If this works with retail I will be very happy.

Edit: I just registered Fire Emblem a couple of days ago. Will I be left out?

Anyone know if the credit can be used on Wii U, or is it 3DS only? (stupid lack of an account system)

Edit: Found out that the $30 credit can be used on either 3DS or the Wii U.

It just says register both by 8/31, don't think it matters when you register them. I think it would have clarified otherwise.

It doesn't say register these games between (date) and (date).

The million dollar (or I guess thirty dollar) question is if this works on already registered copies of Awakening. It seems like it should.

There's a thing at the bottom of the page linked in the OP that says this:

If you purchased the Fire Emblem: Awakening hardware bundle, you must link your Nintendo 3DS system to your Club Nintendo account and complete the registration survey for Shin Megami Tensei IV to qualify for the promotion.

Since you can't get the Awakening system anymore, isn't the implication that a previously registered copy will work for the promotion?

Fuck, I bought FE digitally.

You're OK if you bought the game after having established a Club Nintendo link, AND didn't let the registration survey expire. If either of these has happened, try contacting support, they might reinstate the survey for you.

Has the club Nintendo year ended yet? I've held off of registering a bunch of games so I don't waste coins but this is tempting.

Time to finally bite on FE.

SMTIV looks interesting too, but it's hard to tell if I would enjoy the story. It seems like it's the main draw for people, but I don't think the premise seems that great.

"Register by..." indicates there is no start date for this deal.

Punishing everyone who loyally purchased FE already and contributed to its moderate success seems a tad unfair.

And the digital credit costs Nintendo almost nothing and will probably promote many future digital purchases anyway.
