Club Nintendo (NA): Register FEA + SMT4 by 8/31, get $30 eShop credit

Already bought and registered Fire Emblem months ago now, but this is still an enticing deal for SMT4 even if the game doesn't interest me all that much.

"Register by..." indicates there is no start date for this deal.

Punishing everyone who loyally purchased FE already and contributed to its moderate success seems a tad unfair.

And the digital credit costs Nintendo almost nothing and will probably promote many future digital purchases anyway.

Thanks. Going to save the $30 for Ace Attorney.

This is realistically how Nintendo should be promoting third party games.

"Buy New Super Mario Bros U + Rayman Legends, get $30 in eShop credit" (which is then spent on digital goods at no cost to Nintendo.

"Buy Call of Duty + Wii U Pro Controller, get $20 in eShop credit"

Basically, you are saying, "Buy this third party game along with the first party game you were going to buy anyway, get some more first party content for free!"

I believe it just ended at the end of June. But your coins carry over.

Thanks! should have clarified a bit though, I'm already at Platinum status and I didn't want to add coins that weren't going to count towards something. I have an unregistered 3DS XL, 4 3DS games and a few others.

Holy crap, I've been meaning to get FE:A one of these days. This is the perfect deal, especially since I've got $25 in GS credit. I'll pick it up when I get my SMT4 pre-order.

Think I'll use the $30 on AA5 and/or some VC titles.

I like this idea...

I would imagine this would work if you have already registered the game, as that information is saved in your CN account. This would be the same whether you bought the game physically or digitally. Once you register the games (and of course, ensure your CN is registered to your system) and complete your surveys, you're all good.

Now to get me some Shin Megami Tensei!!! :-D

This is a pleasant Bought Fire Emblem, Haven't inputted the code, and have SMT IV pre-ordered. The hard part is decided whether to put the credit on my 3DS or WiiU.

Oh shit. I'll check whether I can un-cancel my SMT IV preorder. :S

Was already going to get SMT IV anyway so this works out quite well. Physical seems like the best bet because of neat packaging. Got FE a few weeks ago on Eshop since physical copies have been eluding me. I guess since it's in the Club Nintendo system I will be fine. Gonna pick up either DKCR 3D or a bunch of NES&GB games. Either sounds quite nice!

Has this been cleared up yet, whether my Day 1 Fire Emblem purchase counts towards this? It doesn't have to be a newly registered code does it?

I would have put the credit on my Wii U, but I already bought New Super Luigi U and there isn't much coming on the eShop for a while that I want. Probably going to keep it on my 3DS and use it towards Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies when it comes out.

Didn't plan on buying SMT4 but now I may. Still unsure.

I can basically get Pokémon Y or Ace Attorney free with credit... decisions decisions

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
SMTIV, you're destined to be the best selling chapter in US for the franchise, then. There are around 300k people who bought already Fire Emblem: Awakening, even 1/3 of them is enough. Go!

That's one way to justify SMT4's inflated price tag.

It comes with...

A 176-page Strategy & Design Book that includes the official starter strategy guide and full-color artwork ranging from concept art to in-game pieces to never-used designs from the new Shin Megami Tensei series character designer, Masayuki Doi. (Not available for separate retail sales)

The Shin Megami Tensei Music Collection CD that offers a collection of tracks specially selected from across the 20-plus-year history of the SMT series

A deluxe-sized Collectible Slipcase featuring key art designed by Masayuki Doi.

So how about no?

Digital goods are not free for Nintendo, 3rd parties expect of course their margin for every copy sold.

FUCK YES.

And up to August 31st? That's more than enough time for me to get SMT4. Awesome promotion.

Also, the rules state "Register before 08/31". That clearly implies already registered copies of FE:A count.
