There's never been a situation where Trump had people care about his crimes and abuse, or had anyone actually hold him accountable when they did. It appears as stupidity, but he does not live in a world where there are consequences. Shit, he sold multi million dollar properties to foreign buyers and ran casinos and people are still like 'no, he would never launder money'.

The senior campaign official being mentioned here is either Kellyanne Conway (officially announced as campaign manager July 1st), Corey Lewandowski (officially stepped down June 20th), or Bannon himself.
Edit: Or obviously Manafort, who was still with the campaign then.

It will be interesting to watch the various spins between these big drops. This guilty plea puts them on notice that anything being said now and for months is possibly available to the investigators. On all platforms. Perhaps even in person meetings.
