CoD2: WTF? No lean function?

So, I finally found a 360 demo kiosk and got to try out a couple of games.

In doing so I discovered that CoD2 has no lean function. Sorry, but that's in-fucking-excusable in a next-generation game.

I understand that it may be a port from a current generation game, but there is absolutely nothing mapped to the d-pad and just about every WWII FPS game this generation has the feature.

-1 sales

And I won't even get into the jaggy mess that are the artillery cannons in the first section of the demo.

No lean? Dang, that sucks.

It won't keep me from buying the game, but I used that lean all the time in CoD 1. Too bad it's not there, I wonder what the reasoning is.

if the pc version has it, i see no reason why it wouldnt be in the 360 game... did you double check the controls (and not just try the d pad)?

regardless, it doesnt effect me much at all, i certainly wont miss it

I've actually been thinking about how other games employ the lean function and I never tried leaning while I had the gun zoomed in (that's how its done in Brothers in Arms). Perhaps that's the way they do it in CoD2?

Maybe not, but it is the same game as the PC version which was just recently released. Only difference that i know of is that the 360 version is made directly for it simultaneously with the PC version in order to take advantage of the 360's power.

So is Oblivion. Would you consider it a port?

I was watching someone play the XBOX version of Big Red One last night and the lean was clearly demonstrated. It's mapped a little odd in my opinion, but it's there.

And dear lord does the game look amazing. I really didn't have much interest in it before (Since the first console CoD was ass), but watching it for a bit really had me wanting it. I'm going to keep my eyes open for Frys ads :X

CoD: Big Red One for Xbox/PS2 is a totally different game from CoD2, its actually made by Treyarch (the spiderman guys).

The fuck? I'm not saying either is a port. You were saying that it isn't the same game...which it is. Just because the 360 version may look better than the PC version doesn't make the PC version a different game when everything else is the same. And i believe that it's been said the 360 and PC version of Oblivion are pretty much identical in every regard (that is pfcourse unless the 360 version doesn't support MODs which then makes it a lesser version in my eyes), only; for the PC version to look as good as the 360 you would need the highest end PC available.

Oh. What the Hell, I thought we were talking about Big Red One for some reason. I read 360 and for some reason just thought XBOX. Blah.

Okay, now I understand the outrage X__X
