OK, I need a new coffeemaker, and like all potential purchases, the question of "which ones are good?" comes to mind. However, getting good info on the ol' intarweb has been more difficult than I thought. I did stumble across the Coffee Geek site, but those people are NUTS. Spending $200 on a frickin' automatic drip machine seems crazy, although I can imagine that there are valid reasons that $15 machines ought to be avoided.
Do you have any recommendations on decent coffeemakers? What makes a coffeemaker "good," anyway? I hear things like brew temperature matter...but how much? I guess I'd consider something up to $80-100 if it totally kicked ass, but I'd have to understand what I was getting for that price. Built-in water filtration would potentially be a plus.
