I'm listening to the Coldplay 03/02/2003 concert that I attended (that's March 2nd, euro friends). There's this one song called "Poor Me" that is definitely not the band's traditional style, and it rocks. Sounds just as awesome as it did when I saw them perform it. Is there a studio version of this song? I love it.

diablos it pains me to know that you enjoy one of the shittiest bands around, coldplay. how someone can go from rock legends like the pumpkins to an awful band like coldplay baffles me...

You should catch their live show sometime, it's really good. They sound a lot better live. I'm telling you, their studio sound is too polished but it all comes together when they're on stage. PM me.

well diablos it is a combination of things really. we both know that the perception you have of a band and the vibe they give off goes along way in allowing you to enjoy a song. face it, there are some pumpkins songs that i enjoy but if they were done nearly identical by a band like Bright eyes or Yellow card i would fucking hate it. it's just the perception of the band. if a band has earned your respect you can enjoy their stuff more easily. but when you dislike a band, it is hard to listen to something and enjoy it. i dont think i could ever enjoy coldplay. those guys are the biggest pussies this side of the calling

Yes. Because Bright Eyes or Yellowcard actually would have actually performed them. Something Corporate covered Radiohead's "High and Dry," it's the worst cover I have ever heard in my life. I consider the Pumpkins' discography to be perfect, with the exception of maybe half of Machina, and some pre-Gish, Mellon Collie and Machina demos.
