Colin Moriarty is leaving Kinda Funny Games.

Colin was a big part about what I loved about Kinda Funny. He had a great dynamic with Greg who was always a little more optimistic and he of course added that JRPG flair that no one else on the panel really has. My favorite thing about him though is his DEEP knowledge of games. He's a student of history so you could tell he had a deep appreciation for the history of video games as well. I wonder who is gonna co-host PS I love you XOXO. It is easy to say Tim but he already does gamescast with him and he doesn't have that deep connection to Playstation that Colin had.

So does this mean him and Greg aren't going to be living together anymore?
Or did they move out before. I haven't really followed them since their Podcast Beyond days.

I can't believe that Colin can't take a little criticism. Although he believed that his tweet was light hearted fun, a lot of his closest friends were offended by it. For me it wasn't the tweet itself, but how immature he reacted to it. He could have said sorry if I offended anybody but didn't mean to. Instead, he called them "unfunny sackless pieces of shit." Then he posted a video about Republicans not apologizing. He didn't want to apologize.

He went on a big tirade about how Democrats and Republicans need to have a conversation instead of shouting at each other. When his ego was broken, he just shouted at everybody and quit. That's a sore loser who is unable to take constructive criticism. He has great insights, but sorry he needs to grow up and start acting like an adult.

Oh dear. You're struggling here.
Poor baby.
Please define SJWs and PC culture, just to make sure we're all on the same page.
Why are you like this?

I love you guys too.

In regards to quote number 3, sorry bud just google it. We really shouldn't be on a different page.

Not really. He's an atheist. I consider Christopher Hitchens, a personal idol, liberal despite his slightly sexist views on gender differences.

That just proves that you shouldn't just jump the gun that someone is an alt righter like people do so much in this thread. People can have varying opinions that are different from the typical leaning of their affiliated political groups.

THAT'S your ideal world

If you want to live in a world filled with awful, unfunny, nonsensical jokes, you're already there

Problem is I am not there. I am here with people like you who are stuck up and get worked up over what I believe are small things.

Uhh seems you're the one who is getting worked up on this as instead of just passing it of and moving on or just not responding at all you keep responding with stranger and stranger posts. How about you take your own advice and stop getting so worked up.

He's trying to stand up for the right of straight white men to tell unfunny jokes without being criticized for it, like a true patriot. Why can't we just go back to the days when minorities didn't dare speak up and just let us shit on them with no consequence?

I quite enjoyed him on Kinda Funny and enjoyed the banter with the three of them. I know a bit about his politics and mostly disagree, but I don't pay attention to it.

I only know Greg's name and have no idea offhand what the name is of the dude who loves Crash Bandicoot, but I know I enjoy them too. I'll continue to watch.

i wish SJWs/PC culture were half the menace "centrists" make them out to be, because maybe if they were we wouldn't have a bunch of fucks in power.

hmm.

Well centrists blame SJWs for that as well. Just check out the tone police whenever a political thread pops up.

Right: Damn these SJWs, they're out of control, this is why we have to put someone like Trump in power

It can't be any of the other KF guys right now, they won't fit well. Needs to be an oustide person. Wouldn't mind a guest spot kind of thing for a while until they find someone. Don't think anyone is going to touch Greg + Colin combo though.

People keep blaming the Tweet. It was only the final straw. There's a history of Colin being too political and controversial for KF's liking. I don't get why people don't understand that if they are such KF fans. The don't seem to realize KF is a business about gaming. Nothing wrong with being political, but when you do it all of the time it's clear it's a major part of your channel. But it was only Colin doing it. You don't see the others doing it nearly as much or if at all. So Colin clearly didn't fit with the group. The rest of the crew never argued with him. They let him rant for an hour looking uncomfortable. It was inevitable.

True, it was only a matter of time before Colin was gone and it just happened to be today. He has looked disinterested at times the last 6 months during their shows, then add the interjection of politics on top of things with a lot of their topics on each show. You can tell at times it annoyed Greg, but he did the best to cover it up/side step the politics. I never had a beef with the guy like some on here, but yes, he would get annoying at times when he would act as if he knows it all. Colin did help bring a different opinion about games to the table which I think with the current crew is going to be lacking.

This is really random but your avi (whenever I see it) has always reminded me of the Locust Horde from Gears. I imagine that's how they'd look if they were real.

I never mentioned straight white man once or their rights once.

Astonishing.

I'm even an immigrant to the US. Won't tell my race but it is not white.

I repeat, simple google search will do the trick. People are acting as if the term SJW is actually a bad thing, when it isn't. It defines people championing a certain set of views which is fine, but it is the militant versions of such people that often appall me.

Not surprised.

This obviously moved up the time table, but even in the past when topics like 'what do you see yourself doing in 20 years?' Colin always said doing something else.

Even going beyond the initial hot button topic he's been trying to find the drive for like the last 18 months. He even had his phase of drifting apart from gaming. Plus he was kinda over having to do the trade show circuit.

All of that was fine btw. Just wasn't sure how much of a fit he is for what KoF is a business structure.

You poor thing. It's really unfair that the fact you can't make shitty jokes at the expense of less well off people affects you so much. It much be such a tough world you live in.

I have never in my life seen somebody rant because you were told you have your panties in a bunch.

Only in this hypothetical "land without humor, known as SJWland" does that exist.

It's sadly ironic. The most SJWs can do with their "outrage" is get one or two people fired at a time. When the right gets "outraged", they tank the entire country.

But yeah SJWs are clearly the biggest threat to society. Totes.

You are getting all worked up about this and calling me the snowflake? That's rich.

I would definitely like to tell you not to get your panties in a bunch. And in an ideal world your comeback would consist of telling me that my Y chromosome reflects some sort of defect or something. And then we'd laugh. But sadly PC culture these days. So I'll just leave it at take a chill pill please.

Fact is people ARE SJWs and PC culture is a thing. Don't deny the obvious. And no it isn't just marginalized groups who speak up either. Also, when did I say you can't speak up? Do so. But I will call your opinion ridiculous as you are doing to me.

lmfao is this dude forreal? what is going on?

Why are people like you so fucking boring?

Ninjascooter has been a quality poster on this forum for over 10 years. Who the fuck are you? Get the fuck out of here with this whiney "no you" bullshit.

Do you not realize that you are the whiney entitled snowflake in this discussion? Oh no, somebody disagreed with you, better call them an SJW and a snowflake. Phew, argument won!

"Just google it" means "I have no earthly idea what the fuck i'm talking about, but I heard those terms in a chatroom once while watching a stream so I'm just repeating them"

Can we add outrage culture to the list? Because I'm pretty sure it just means "disagreeing with something I've said."

Bummer, I liked Colin. I've never supported KF but I've been listening to their playstation podcast since it was Beyond!

I liked listening to Greg and Colin because Colin would say things most of the super left leaning games journos would not. He wasn't afraid of twitter rage or accidentally (or purposefully) offending someone. I think their playstation podcast is really going to suffer for this move. The reason it was great was because they had a different perspective. I'm a big fan of Greg Miller but I'd never listen to him carry a podcast with a rotating co-host and nobody else on KF is entertaining. The left needs to be careful. The way they continue to banish anyone who has even a slightly disagreeable position to a minority is nuts. They are turning into the same echo chamber they accuse the alt-right of. I never heard Colin say anything hateful and he is being cast aside because he has a different political perspective than his hosts and probably about half of their followers. I don't even agree with his political viewpoint but I'm sad to see him go. He was thought provoking and smart and he brought a DIFFERENT perspective to an industry that desperately needs it.

It wasn't his right wing views necessarily that made people dislike him. It was his smug attitude and intolerance towards the left. He easily dismissed people's opinions as just SJW/PC BS. Which as a result, divided the whole fan base into right wing Colin supporters who think KF is full of PC snakes and backstabbers, and another side who thinks Colin is terrible.

There's nothing wrong with him being a right wing person. But being right wing doesn't mean you have to be a smug asshole and controversial figure. He could have easily offered his opinions and had a healthy debate. But instead he just went a constant tirade against the left and then he goes on right wing political discussions and bashes the left for being intolerant while being intolerant. I have several conservative friends and I get along with them fine when we debate. And I'm not even that big of a liberal (I'm center left).

Odds are if you can't define something for me in a sentence or two and resort to "google it bro", you probably have no idea what it is.

Which is funny because if you start searching for SJW on google you're going to get some really "interesting" definitions and search results.

"People are displessed with sexist and racist political views/opinions of people I like, and I'm mad about it" = SJW

There gow3isben, I put the definition you seek for SJW.

It sounds like he was planning on/thinking about leaving for a while and this shitstorm made him decide to pull the trigger on it. It seemed like enough people at Kinda Funny were willing to stand by him, but I'd imagine he either didn't want to or knew he wouldn't be able to put enough of a muzzle on himself to keep shit like this from happening again and thus decided to separate himself in order to not bring further damage to KF.

Okay, I'm sure this has already been established for you by this point but here: The hashtag Colin used in that tweet was a hashtag being used in recognition for Internationals Women's Day. There was a movement for women to not go into their workplaces on that day in order to illustrate how much women do in our society. This wasn't an accident by Colin. He used the International Women's Day hashtag on International Women's Day to make a joke about how women talk too much. This was blatantly intentional.
Women do speak a lot, don't they? Lol

I give up. All things considered, I liked Colin much more than Greg, so I'm kinda sad he is leaving.

If being an SJW and PC culture means not staying silent when members of socially and culturally marginalized and oppressed groups are targeted, attacked and denigrated by others, especially those with privilege and power, then I'm FREAKING proud to be called a Social Justice Warrior and member of the PC Culture. It's also within my free speech rights to call out people who say stupid sexist/racist shit.

I'm interested if the PSX I Love You podcast will now be Geoff Keighley and Greg Miller.

I liked Colin, but his politics often conflicted with mine and part-time amateur constitutional scholars can be insufferable.
