I can't believe anyone would proudly post on their twitter how 311 is their favourite band. 311 is absolutely awful.
Everyone seems to praise Colin for his intelligence. 311 suggests this praise is misguided.
Not touching the politics argument (i generally just turned off the brain whenever they popped up, plus i'm on the other side of the world and didn't really care hat much), but Colin simply felt "off" for a while, he just seems to have lost some interest in the media, to the point the cons of the industry outweights the pros. Reminds me of a dear friend of mine.
Still, wish him good luck for everything he does now, as controversial as he was, i enjoyed him.

I have never really thought of him as a particularly smart guy. He's certainly very opinionated and stubborn but I don't think his analysis of the games industry or otherwise has ever been particularly on point. To equate his certainty that hes right about things with intelligence always struck me as ridiculous.

100% agree. I don't even get the articulate comments. He can talk, yes, but he doesn't come across as insightful or thoughtful or intellectually curious in any way at all.
Also, he loves 311. When 311 had their biggest hits, I was a young, massive stoner, and even then, I thought they were fucking terrible and embarrassing.

Conservative principles were a baby dashed against the rocks decades ago. There is no integrity or consistency there. God im just getting mad now.
The one libertarian I know is a super sweet person who isn't racist, but ya know...is a libertarian and follows a political belief that would fuck over everyone who isn't white and who is poor.
