Colin Moriaty thinks Intergalactic is content complete, likely to feature at TGA and will be out this time next year

I'm always surprised when people whose names are Moriarty don't look like this:

What's Colin up to at the minute. I've not seen anything from any gaming peeps for ages.

Is he still doing weekly podcasts and stuff?

This game is a guaranteed bomb outside of Naughty Dog diehards. No mass market appeal. Who exactly is the audience?
I mean, the marketing hasn't really begun. They've shown one trailer and the best part in it was the anime sequence (at least for me). The rest was "eh". But maybe that will change the more they show off the game.

I remember back in the olden days when people said the same about Ghost of Yotei
It is said about nearly every game that features a certain type of protagonist or certain type of story that isn't popular on this specific forum.

Large scale purchasing patterns are simply too unpredictable to tie them directly to cultural talking points, but people continue to try.

People have been predicting purchasing patterns professionally for years and even those people still get things wrong from time to time.

Doubt it will be out next year. They need a lot of time to polish the 54 walk n' talk sections and the 2 second ultra realistic animations no one gives a fuck about.

2020: Morales + Demon's Souls remake (plus Dreams, GoT, TLOU2 and MLB months before in PS4)
2021: Returnal + Ratchet + (fail) Destruction AllStars + MLB
2022: HFW + GT7 + GoWR + MLB + Bungie/Destiny 2 acquisition
2023: Spider-Man 2 + PSVR2/Horizon CoM/GT7 VR/(fail) Firewall Ultra + MLB
2024: Astro Bot + Helldivers 2 + Rise of the Ronin + Stellar Blade + (fail) Concord + MLB
2025: Death Stranding 2 + Yotei + Lost Soul Aside + MLB

This is not counting smaller games like Sackboy, Lego Horizon or the licensed ones to Bandai Namco, remasters, remakes and ports plus non-gaming adaptations.
That list really puts into perspective how fucking dire the PS5 gen has been for Sony developed games, what a wasted gen.

They don't own Miyazaki. No one can tell him to do shit. If anything he would make Elden Ring 2 and keep all the money for his company.
It was his favorite game to work on and is near and dear to him. If Sony walked in with a pallet of cash, he's making it.

I have a feeling they're eventually buying Kadokawa as well.

He is as close to making Bloodborne 2 for Sony as he is making Sekiro 2 for Microsoft/Activision. No one can really compel him to do anything. He could leave From right now to start a studio and investors would be throwing money at him left and right to get in on the venture.

Imagine it being up in the air on a wing and a prayer that you'll maybe release your first "next gen" game 6 years into the console cycle. Dear God what a colossal failure of an operation you've been running.

Sure, that can be said for anyone. I'm just saying the probability would be higher to a yes than a flat out no.

Nah. This will be a 2027 title. Otherwise what would Sony be thinking by releasing both this and Wolverine close to GTAVI lol.

I think this will be their big 2027 title (or one of them at least)

If you don't like videogames, yes
Oh yawn. So much of your list is PS4/PC and multiplatform games, several of those games aren't even from Sony studios. It's so bad you included the fucking bungie acquisition like that means fuck all for a list of games.

Schreier is doubling down that it is not coming out in 2026

And Grubb is saying it won't be at TGA either.

What do you even mean? People don't like sci-fi games where you travel through multiple planets on a linear single player story with the best assets ever seen in the industry and a soundtrack made by NIN, all that with 80s aesthetics?

You are asking who would go for this? Really? Lmao

Will be 2027 but I could see it in the June slot TLOU2 had. I do think we'll see another trailer before the end of the year

Including a light sword that may or may not be controlled or connected to the character's music CDs.

Still the best animations of any game the past 5.5 years

The fuck nobody cares about it. TLOU2 is a phenomenal TPS because of its movement. Intergalactic has crazy potential

The only thing interesting is the 80s theme they're going for so curious to see how well they'll do it. Not really hyped for it but will keep a eye out cause it has potential if done well.

It won't release next year.
They have GTAVI and Wolverine for 2026 holiday season.
Intergalactic is 2027 stuff.
Still a new trailer at TGA showing gameplay is absolutely possible (with GOW 2.5D and Cory Barlog's next game as other possible TGA candidates).
would Sony try for an early 27 release?

Enjoy your Intergalactic animations.

I mean...the guy is right, we can "hate" on the TLOU2 all we want for the "MESSAGE" and writing but, those animations and general details are still next level stuff - and to think that it initially ran on a PS4 of all things makes it even more impressive...

PS: I'm not even a ND fan, found the Uncharteds to be kind of meh and TLOU just "good", it's just that TLOU2 blew me away with its atmosphere, graphics, animations and top notch TPS gameplay - and my 1st time playing it was on a PS5 to boot (meaning, I would have lost my shit had I played it on a PS4).

Lol this is Ps5 gen sony, they will delay or hold the game until they need a big release in a calender year. Next year they have Saros, Wolverine and possibly that God of War spinoff.

Colin is just speculating, whereas Schreier is categorically stating it won't be out next year. I'm not sure how Schreier would even know that, with certainty, that far out.

Because members of the development team know their development milestone schedules with certainty.

good if true I guess. as much as they drive me away with what's shown so far, I'm willing to keep an open mind and wait for the review on how good the game actually is. but they really need to stop trying to piss off customers who would be paying for the game.

They have GTA 6 and Wolverine? They? You do know they are from different publisher's?

I mean, starting with "I think...." says a lot. But I guess people took that and immediately ran with it being factual? Lmao.

I don't share the same level of faith you have in him, obviously.

i haven't expressed any 'faith' in him. Merely pointed out how extremely plausible it is that a well connected insider could have contacts within a studio…contacts that would certainly know the broad milestones for delivery.

Not exactly rocket science
