Double Elimination for the SEC!
Miniature American Flags for others!

And so after another long regular season of thrilling, meaningful match ups, where every week was an elimination game (unless you are Alabama) we find ourselves now on the brink of bowl season!

Which conference will prove its superiority this bowl season?
Can ucla avoid becoming the first 6-8 team in college history?
Can Ohio State finally beat an SEC team in a bowl game? Will it matter since its not a BCS game?
How many teams whose coaches have been fired/taken new jobs will lose in horrible fashion?
How many TDs will Oregon lose the Rose Bowl by?
Which bowl game will end up with the most random drama?
How bad will Fox screw up their broadcasts? Will Gus Johnson have a heart attack?
What will I do with no college football on New Years? Will I be too hung over to care?
Of these 500 bowl games how many will I watch start to finish?

Suck it Luck!

I get spreading the bowl games out from a financial perspective but why do we now have literally 0 bowl games on New Years day? A day when a ton of Americans are off work and half of them are too hung over to do anything but watch TV.

I think this always happens when New Years is on Sunday. And the reason is.... the NFL.

The 2nd of January is the National Holiday this year since the 1st falls on a Sunday. Everyone should have it off that would normally have the 1st off.

Still bitter about Sugar Bowl. As corrupt and shameless as I know the NCAA and bowls to be, I was still taken aback by this one

Finebaum will never read the words you wrote, but a smile crossed his lips anyway when you hit "submit reply."
He truly is a masterful troll. I know what he's doing, but I can't help but respond.

It still blows my mind that Richardson had way more Heisman votes than Montee Ball.

I still don't understand what benefit there is to having so many games involving teams from only two conferences being played at the same time. Won't this just dilute the viewership for all three?

Easy: Eye Test

The 2 of them stood side by side, until the press yelled out "get that 12 year old off the stage."

I will be less than thrilled if my boss doesn't let me have Jan 2. off.

Still kicking around the idea of going to the Orange Bowl. But meh at that matchup.

I was just in Miami. I drove by the Orange Bowl, that venue is showing its age.

But isn't the game at Land Shark Field or whatever the hell Pro Player is called now?

Yep, I was thinking of the whatever they are building for the Marlins right now. Which explains the fences and construction.

That's where the old Orange Bowl was right?

One thing I really like about South Florida is how they love tradition, classiness, and how they support their teams no matter what.

NEW MONEY MOTHAFUCKAH!!!

You see, Richardson has to face ESS EEE CEE defenses, whereas Ball only had to play against soft B1G defenses like tOSU, MSU, and Penn State.

And if you want to point out that Ball did much better against Penn State than Richardson, their defense was weakened by child molesters.

To be fair, Trent got most of his yards against a team that won the MNC last year, and he had to get up mentally for his huge games against Kent State, North Texas, and Georgia Southern.

Heart of a champion.

Yup.

I'd be going to The Stadium Formerly Known as Joe Robbie, which as I understand it, did just go through some renovations.

it's been played at Joe Robbie/whatever it's called now for at least a decade. I know because I was there in 2000 when Michigan beat Alabama.

I'm not sure why anyone thought the Orange Bowl was actually played at the Orange Bowl anymore. It's been a very long time since the last bowl game held at the Orange Bowl.

Oh, my trip into Liberty City was scary.

So when that brawl happened between The U and FIU, was that at the Orange Bowl?

Cause all I remember is the announcer saying "You don't bring that shit into the OB!"

Oh, my trip into Liberty City was scary.

I've never been to the former Orange Bowl stadium. But Dolphin Stadium/Sun Life/Pro Player is only on the border of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. And there is so much access via highways, you really don't have to mess with any neighborhoods, except quickly driving through when you exit.

Edit: Yeah, I think so Gondo. Miami very recently(within 5 years?) moved their games from the Orange Bowl stadium. Which was also the former home of the Dolphins. Just double checked... they moved out after the 2007 season.

Da U played at the Orange Bowl until 2007.
That prompted me to look up the actual quote from Lamar Thomas:

"You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked. You don't come into the OB playing that stuff....You can't come over to our place talking noise like that. You'll get your butt beat. I was about to go down the elevator to get in that thing.....I say, why don't we meet outside in the tunnel after the ball game and get it on some more? You don't come into the OB, baby. We've had a down couple of years but you don't come in here talking smack. Not in our house."[2]
