it's been played at Joe Robbie/whatever it's called now for at least a decade. I know because I was there in 2000 when Michigan beat Alabama.

I was in the endzone. 85 degrees on January 1st in Miami... not the worst game I've ever been to even though we lost because of a missed PAT.

Funniest clash of opposing fan bases I've ever seen in person, though. The Bama fans showed up early and tailgated most of the day. The Michigan fans showed up an hour before the game dressed for church.

I've noticed that out here in the Midwest. People dress nice for the games.

were you in the endzone where the PAT's were being kicked? If so, I was probably only a few seats away from you!

also, I had my Michigan jersey on, so IDK. But yes, we tend to dress decently.

Hey, there are a few decent games this year. Here are the ones I'll likely watch.

Las Vegas Bowl- will watch until Boise takes an insurmountable lead. So, around the start of the second quarter.
Hawaii Bowl- Xmas Eve, gotta do something to avoid talking to relatives.
Holiday Vengeance Bowl- duh. I will be leaving work early for this. Wish I could've made it down.
Champs Sports Bowl- catholics vs convicts! Ok, well close enough.
Emerald Bowl- because UCLA has a shot at making history!
Gator Bowl- OSU vs Florida again, but now they both suck. Should be a great defensive battle like the Game of the Century.
Rose Bowl- looks like the best game of the bowl season.
Fiesta Bowl- although this one might come close. Depends on Stanford's D, really.
Sugar Bowl- yeah, I'm a sucker for Denard.
Cotton Bowl- because it's the last game of the season. Last good one, I mean; I don't count the random shitty bowls they stick at the end.

They divided the stadium on the 50 yard line, so I was on the other side. The final missed PAT was across the field. Got to see Alexander score his last collegiate TD, but I can't remember if Brady played for Michigan or not.

The (very large) Greek crowd dresses up at Alabama home games, but the rest of us generally use common sense for the level heat and humidity that far South. I can't imagine standing around in a suit for 4+ hours.

people were wearing SUITS?

no, that's not typical of Michigan football fans.

Larry Scott is a madman.

Larry Scott, the Pacific-12 Conference commissioner, flew to Beijing on Sunday to start an apparently unprecedented effort by a college sports league to establish itself in a foreign country.

Scott plans to spend four days there meeting with various officials to put together a “road map” for a way to expand the presence of Pac-12 universities in China. While Scott has his eyes on Central America, South America, India and other Asian nations in the long term, his immediate priority is establishing the Pac-12 in China.

Scott said in a telephone interview Saturday that he expected the Pac-12 to play games in China in the next three to five years, and that he hoped the league’s cable network would someday be available there.

Well, makes that Boise to Orlando trip seem not so bad. Can't wait for the articles criticizing this just like the BE!
Upon first reading, I thought that was an Onion article too....

The Orange Bowl was not bulldozed for the new baseball stadium.

It was bulldozed for this:

They just decided to build a baseball stadium around it.

I...um...

What the hell is going on in this world?

No Alamo Bowl? :(

Was there a burger eaten in the middle of it?

Oh god, he has to use a cane. There are fewer things more depressing then a fat man with a cane.

Only thing of redeemable quality in that video.

I don't like to make fun of fat people, but Goddam he fat.

LOL @ using the cane, even while sitting down.

Eh, he gets to recruit Texas now, maybe that will help him out.
Yeah, I'm sure he'll have a ton of luck recruiting against UT, OU, OSU, A&M, TCU, TTU, etc.

They might snatch a recruit or two that would have gone to Mizzou, but still. I'll be shocked if KU's not conducting another coaching search 3 years from now.

Hell, their one really good year (2007) was very overrated. They didn't have to pay UT, OU, or TTU, and didn't even make the Big 12 CCG. It's neck-and-neck between KU and ISU for the worst job in the Big 12.

Appears for certain that Jeff Godfrey has been released from UCF with conditions that he cannot go to a CUSA or Big East school.

UCF either needs to get another 2 QBs for this class or hold open tryouts so there are backups available. We have one in Blake Bortles, which is ok because he looks pretty good and a much better pocket passer that can also run.

But backup wise, we have Rob Calabrese who has been transitioning to WR and also will be coming back from an ACL injury. Then our 3rd QB this season was one of our running backs...

I would say there are a couple things he has going for him here that he didn't have in ND:
1: Academic Standards? What academic standards?
2: While getting scraps, he will still get Texas recruiting
3: Lower bar of success

What's wrong with having a pimp cane?

He needs it for his hip. He is going to have surgery so he unfortunately won't be sporting it next season.

Honestly, Weis seems like a nice guy and I feel sorry for his medical situation.

But it's still a turrible hire. The Big 12 ain't gonna be any easier in the next few years.

If the Vols work like heck during the offseason they might be able to return to the Music City Bowl next year!

They replaced the turf....finally. Artificial surface now. Otherwise, yeah, the Citrus Bowl/Dump is still crappy otherwise and a very crappy area.

Going back to the Champs Sports Bowl this year to cheer on my Noles. The stadium isn't that awful, at least it wasn't in 2008 when I went to see the Noles wreck Wiscy.

While looking for area hotels I found one that had a review claiming that the girls working front desk staff were fucking the patrons (for FREE). Only $32/night!

List of Bowl Gift packages. Note that the NCAA limit on bowl gifts is $550 per player. You know, because it's not an "inappropriate gift" if it's under $550 or whatever. Hypocrites.

Chick-Fil-A bowl: $250 Best Buy gift card, Fossil watch, Russell Athletic ski cap, Russell Athletic travel bag, $15 Chick-fil-A gift card, commemorative football

A $15 Chick-Fil-A gift card? That's fucking low. I mean, it's their own freaking bowl game and they can't spring for more than $15 per player? Apart from their stance on homosexuality, this is basically the lowest thing Chick-Fil-A has ever done. That's like, two or three meals at most. Outside of the $250 Best Buy gift card, I'd trade all the other stuff for Chick-Fil-A. That stuff is delicious.

Montgomery news is reporting that Mark Stoops has been hired away from FSU to be Auburn's DC.

I stopped at "Chick-Fil-A" and started drooling.

Sorry about that. What was the point of your post?

Chick-Fil-A are assholes that make delicious sandwiches but lack the generosity to give out more than $15 to players attending their own fucking bowl game. Also, they hate the gays.

I had some delicious nuggets for lunch. Sooooo delicious. /homer
It is ridiculously good. It's the one fast food place that I genuinely look forward to eating at (besides In-N-Out, which we don't have yet).

I might have told this story before, but I was at a friend's wedding, and my the groom's uncle is some kind of VP at CFA... He was a weird dude. Very John Edwards-esque, kept on bringing up Jesus and talking about how CFA sends execs on marriage-strengthening retreats and stuff.

In spite of what my brain tells me, my stomach tells me to eat as much Chick-Fil-A as possible. At least it's a little easier now that they stopped serving sweet potato waffle fries. Damn those things were good.

I don't think we ever got sweet potato fries down here in FL. It was easy to avoid Chick-Fil-A until they started selling the Spicy Chicken Sandwich/Biscuit/Nuggets. Those things are like crack. Also, I live within walking distance of a CFA, which also makes it very difficult.

Yeah, they were testing out the sweet potato fries in OKC as well as in a couple of other markets. Hope they roll them out nationwide. They were pretty expensive (like close to a dollar extra), but damn were they good.

Those with a spicy chicken sandwich, a Coke Zero and plentiful Chick-Fil-A sauce is magical.

I took a friend of mine to Bojangles the other day for his first time.

I enjoyed watching him gag on the chicken. Good stuff.
I feel like Bojangles is stuck in the 1980s-1990s with their fast food style. Stuff under heat lamps, microphone pointlessly yelling out the order to the back, etc.

It's marginal at best but their tea is good I guess.
