Well, being fired from USC would be a reason

It would be, but he's gonna be there until their scholarship sanctions are gone unless things really go south. They have a very favorable schedule next year.

Message board chatter is that Zona was a lock for the Vegas bowl and that UW was going to fall all the way down to our last bowl in New Mexico, but supposedly Larry Scott stepped in and the Vegas bowl committee is meeting again. They'd be stupid to take Zona over us. It's basketball season, what little football fans Zona had during the season aren't even paying attention anymore.

Gonna be weird to see FSU's staff next year. Looks like it may well get plundered.

This week has been a blur, and I haven't had the stomach to read any CFB coverage until today. I knew Stoops was gone, with a good chance of Coley joining him. DJ Eliot may go, too.

Yeah, FSU is going to slide back to mediocrity unless Jimbo makes some A+ hires.

Jeff Tedford is available!

Good article from Gentry Estes after spending 3 years covering Bama football and now 3 years covering Georgia football. What he says isn't surprising but shows that the two coaches are different in their styles but not so much different in their work ethic as far as the amount of hours they put in.

I don't think I can win the Pick Em this year, but its nice to see that picking based almost entirely on Vegas lines worked pretty well.

Eddie Gran is being mentioned as a possible HC at Southern Miss as well. Usually once a name is tossed out for one job, it floats for others so it may only be a matter of time.

There's a reason they make the big bucks!

I just realized it's Thursday and not Wednesday 5 minutes ago. My world is in chaos ever since Friday.

I don't want to talk about it.

P.S.

Who the hell is Tim Deruyter!? This is rediculous, we couldnt get a bigger name coach than this guy? Guy has 1 year under his belt at Fresno

^Cal player.

I'll believe it when I see it.
Depressing enough that it might be true.

I was wondering how that would turn out a few weeks ago. Was going to take the Vegas favorite as the winner and the Vegas spread as MOV to see where that would stand. Just didn't work up the motivation to do it though, heh.

Yeah I decided to do it this season for giggles. I made a few changes along the way, but stuck with it for the most part. I was doing well until those two weeks where all the top 10 teams lost.

As much as the Big 12 may not like expansion, they have to do something with WVU. They will just rot on the vine so far removed from the rest of the conference. Work out some 3 way trade with the Big 10 and ACC to get Nebraska back and WVU in the ACC

OT here, but I found this article about Manziel's recruitment.

"Two things about Texas," answered Smith, "No. 1, Johnny dreamed of playing in Austin. He absolutely loved Texas I guess from when he was a little kid. If Texas had offered him a scholarship even as an offensive lineman, he would have taken it.

"Texas offered nothing. I've seen it written where they offered as a DB, but that's not true. Johnny would have gone, believe me.

"But the second thing is to give a lot of credit to Duane Akina [Mack's assistant head coach and defensive backs coach]. Duane worked it hard. He became totally convinced Johnny was a quarterback who could play at that level. He really wanted Johnny.

"When it comes to recruiting, of course, Duane had to then sell Johnny to the offensive staff, and in the end, to Mack. He couldn't make that sell because Johnny didn't fit the dimensions. I know they regret it now, but Duane is off the hook, for sure."

I know an obnoxious Cal booster (professionally)... I think I should buy a Fresno State hat for them or something.
