You guys are sounding like us now. "We get held EVERY PLAY and it's never called"

Were there a lot of penalties called in the game? I didn't watch it as intently as I'm sure you guys did. I know one of your WRs got called for PI at the goal line early, but the ball got knocked out anyway. And I rememeber one Roughing the Passer on your DE late in the game.

FSU has killed itself with penalties this season. Really, it's what has angered me the most.

Nah. Bama gets 1 holding call a year. There were some pretty blatant holds that weren't called. We weren't getting all our holds called either, but we still got several.

That QB didn't exactly light us up so the holds likely didn't affect the game much. Holding doesn't matter if you hit Richardson in the backfield and he still gets +5 yards.

Heh. I thought Kara was going to do it, but maybe he was in a drunken stupor after getting clobbered by the trees.
just busy, can wrangle something up when i get home from work tonight but that'll be kinda late

Why do I have such an uneasy feeling about this Buckeye press conference? I just can't help but think it may be about more than just a player or two sitting out another game.

EDIT*

Starting to sound like from player tweets that some official word has come down:

OSU LB Conner Crowell RT @Csqwareddd i hope thats the end of it...

Just now catching up on the thread...dunno if this has been posted.

I'm really not sure how these guys are still on the team. No excuse for them to be at all.
We apparently don't care about showing any discipline or respect for your teammates. It's just embarassing. What happened to the TEAM aspect?

Oh and our entire compliance department including the buffoon Smith needs to go.

So Hank Williams, Jr just lost his Monday Night Football gig because he compared Obama to Hitler, and called Obama and Biden the Three Stooges (No, there wasn't a third name).

Anyways, that's not here nor there, if you want to discuss this, go to the relevant thread.

However, what must be mentioned is that he did made those comments in an Alabama hat:

GODWIN'S LAW, NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! ROLL TIDE!

Just a family tradition.

UFPD investigating assault on former UA player

TUSCALOOSA | Former University of Alabama football player Reggie Myles has filed a complaint with the University of Florida Police Department alleging that he was attacked by Florida defensive lineman Dominique Easley outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium shortly after the Crimson Tide's 38-10 win over Florida on Saturday night.

UFPD Sgt. Steve Wilder confirmed that an investigation is ongoing regarding Myles' complaint, but that UFPD has not yet confirmed that Easley was Myles' attacker.

"I'm trying to identify a suspect, who it was that actually hit him and injured him. I'll go from there," Wilder said.

Myles said he learned who his attacker was from Easley's parents, who were at the scene. According to Myles, he was tackled from behind and the attack was unprovoked.

A cell phone, dropped by Myles' assailant before he fled the scene, also may help police make an identification. Myles took possession of the phone and subsequently provided it to police at the scene.

"His parents were asking me for the phone back," Myles said.

In the wake of the incident, Myles was detained and charged by police himself, although Wilder said those charges were separate from the investigation into the attack, and stemmed from Myles being upset about what had happened. Those charges include public intoxication and criminal mischief, according to Myles.

"It was based on the way he was behaving when we were trying to sort everything out. It's stemmed from him being attacked," Wilder said. "The battery, him being battered, is a separate case. The charges against him were entirely based on his disorderly behavior following that, and I understand he was extremely agitated. He'd just been hit from behind by an unknown assailant, and was scraped up pretty good. I understand him being upset. Unfortunately, we couldn't get him to calm down."

Myles said it was his understanding that a recommendation would be made for his charges to be dropped, and that two eye witnesses would be providing statements to UFPD. Wilder said he would attempt to "lessen the impact" of the charges against Myles due to the extenuating circumstances.

The incident occurred on a walkway outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium shortly after midnight after the game. By the time Myles had a chance to speak with UFPD, the assailant had left the scene.

Myles was visibly agitated, and asked police at the scene for copies of any security camera video that might have captured the incident. Wilder said pulling those tapes would be part of his investigation. Myles' left elbow was bloodied and he walked with a limp and complained of hip pain while explaining to police what had happened. Myles was carrying a soft alumimum container of chicken wings at the time, which were splattered on the ground as he informed police of what had happened.

Myles said he was admitted to a hospital and was issued a pair of crutches. Following a visit to an orthopedist on Monday, Myles said, "Nothing was broken or torn."

"Once we got him calmed down and detained him and got him back to our police station where we got him checked out by EMS, the adrenaline rush had dropped, he started calming down and was a lot more cooperative," Wilder added. "We were able to sort a lot more of the initial attack, what happened, out. That's where we're at right now."

Easley made four tackles against the Crimson Tide on Saturday. He was also flagged for a personal foul for roughing UA quarterback AJ McCarron in the second quarter. McCarron, in turn, exchanged words with Easley and was animated in his excitement after scoring a touchdown on a sneak two plays later. Myles played at Alabama from 1998-2001, followed by a four-year NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals.

This line was so integral to the overall story that I really appreciate the author including it.

So is the Mizzou press conference tomorrow? now that the Big XII-III agreed to equal revenue sharing of tier 1 and tier 2 television dollars, maybe Mizzou will stay and then BYU will sign on

I hear lots of thing :P. But the writing is pretty much on the wall, how can we not get hammered after all this shit. How many times is Gene going to say this is an isolated incident. Especially if we dont kick these assholes off the team.

You're right no one cares about women's basketball. But I would hardly call bringing in our football program, annually in the top 25, and our basketball program, 2 years removed from a final four appearance, "scraping the bottom of the barrel."

At least us being awful makes it somewhat easier to accept.

By all means, NCAA, feel free to take away this horrific season.

Your school literally adds nothing of value to the SEC. And by that I don't mean that your football and basketball programs are not solid, but rather that you bring nothing to the conference that isn't already there.

Edit: Touting Final Four appearances is saying "we almost got to play in the championship game." Congratulations, that makes you Boise State.

To be fair, I hate the addition of Aggy as well.

Tennessee fans burned mattresses when Kiffin left. I think we have our furniture burning quota fulfilled.

No idea why WVU thought they had a shot in the first place....

With Aggy in, would you rather stay at 13 or add someone else? What do you want a school to bring to the conference? I just want to see where your'e coming from, considering that we bring much stronger athletics than Missouri.

Adding WVU reeks of "we just gotta add someone in the south to get to 14, FSU and Clemson didnt return our calls soooooowhataboutwvu"

I thought it was agreed they didnt want schools in existing states.

Also our basketball is better than both and football is assuredly better than Clemson, plus we taught Bobby Bowden everything he knows.

Kinda like when a hot girl rejects you and you say well she wasn't that hot anyway.

If we had to expand I'd rather expand west than... to the hills of West Virginia. Mizzou adds a natural connection to Oklahoma and Kansas. Oklahoma apparently doesn't want to join the SEC for academic reasons, but if the Big 12 continues to implode, I would take Kansas and Kansas State, too, if necessary to snag KU.

But if the hot girl lived in the same state as a girl you already had relations with why would you want her?

wait what

This is a conference of rednecks we had to work hard to get a hillbilly exception I doubt they are going to want to do it again.

Some rumblings that the BE is actually de-emphasizing Air Force and looking at UCF, SMU, Temple, and Navy. So basically stuff that everyone knew they should have been doing for over a year now. Navy being FB only.

Hopefully it isn't too late and the damage is already being done by driving away the more competent programs like SU/Pitt and now possibly WVU.

If someone wants in, let them beg out our feet. I want animal sacrifices of mascot proportions. The SEC has made it clear that they aren't asking anyone to join. Offers come in, none go out. Lay out your case, but I think mre's character witness testimony makes this an open and shut case.

I can't see what he said. I'm blinded by all the bling. Someone translate!

If you combine football with sports the SEC doesn't care about, then UConn is the most successful program. Therefore, the SEC will continue to ignore them and add WVU.

No one, and I mean, no one cares about women's basketball. I don't think Pat Summit even likes the sport.
