Very light week. I haven't gone in a while so I should have a pretty healthy number of comics waiting for me

FLASH #220 $2.25
OCEAN #5 (OF 6) $2.99
ASTONISHING X-MEN #9 $2.99

DC COUNTDOWN TO INFINITE CRISIS #1
FLASH #220
ASTONISHING X-MEN #9
MARVEL KNIGHTS SPIDER-MAN #12
SECRET WAR BOOK FOUR (OF FIVE)
ULTIMATE SECRET #1 (OF 4)
X-MEN AGE OF APOCALYPSE #5 (OF 6)
X-MEN PHOENIX ENDSONG #4 (OF 5)
WIZARD COMICS MAGAZINE HOUSE OF M CVR #163
CASTLEVANIA THE BELMONT LEGACY #1 (OF 5)
STUDIO ICE MU MARK LEE CVR A #3

Heavy week for me. Countdown is only a dollar for 80 pages of story, so I figure why the hell not. Plus I'm a whore for big ass company wide stories.

Heavy week for me as well. Even better, they're mostly quality, unlike last week's "half of my haul is mediocre."

CONCRETE THE HUMAN DILEMMA #4
DC COUNTDOWN TO INFINITE CRISIS #1
LEGION OF SUPER HEROES #4
ASTONISHING X-MEN #9
MARVEL KNIGHTS SPIDER-MAN #12
PULSE #8
SECRET WAR BOOK FOUR (OF FIVE)
X-MEN PHOENIX ENDSONG #4 (OF 5)

Countdown excites me so. It seems they've planted the seeds for every rumor and bit of speculation I've heard thus far. Tingly.

Let's see...

Ocean #5 (of 6)
Astonishing X-Men #9
Pulse #8
Secret War #4 (of 5)
Ultimate Secret #1 (of 4)

And that's about it. I'm psyched for Ocean 5 and AXM 9 in particular, but I dunno if that'll be enough to get me to the shop this week. On the flip side, as the week is rather light, that gives me more incentive to pick up the Madrox: Multiple Choice collection Marvel is putting out.

I loved Peter David's old X-Force run, and word on the street is that the Madrox mini was pretty damn great. What the hell, sign me up.

Countdown to Infinite Crisis friggin rocked my socks off.... I'd have EASILY paid regular price for this.... As for Batman 638... it's too soon after Hush for this.

BATMAN #638
DC COUNTDOWN TO INFINITE CRISIS #1
FLASH #220
LEGION OF SUPER HEROES #4

so i read infinite countdown to ......whatever. you do get what you pay for.
let me tell you why.....

thanks DC for killing and /or injuring some of my favorite characters ever. since when did everyone hate blue beetle so much? and for a superhero community that just recently had it's secrets..... raped all of a sudden they dont care that beetle has found some pretty damming evidence that someone's after them?
uh... am i missing something? wait, let me guess, batman has all the answers! brilliant!! he'll show them what for!!
and i'm supposed to care about these mini-series now because they showed a page or two in each chapter? i dont even what they're about in the first place!!! i blame this on winnick, he sucks .art was good though. i'll buy the OMAC project and look at the other series but with a more skeptical eye now. i do not buy comic books to se good characters get their brains blwon out like so much confetti (and before you ask, i'm not switching to marvel) there's still plenty of other DC books i'll still read but this countdown thing dissapointed me. (unless beetle's alive then all is forgiven)

Anybody pick up this week's Batman?

Red Hood beats the crap out of
the Joker with a crowbar
after which, he is revealed as none other than
Jason Todd
!

It could just be another red herring, but it'll be interesting to see how Winick spins this, nonetheless.

Looking at the stuff from Wizard, though, I'm not sure how much of any of this will lead directly into Infinite Crisis itself... even Countdown just seems like more of a prologue to the OMAC mini.

My understanding was that Countdown leads into the four miniseries, and one of those will end up leading into the Crisis. Which one, is still up for debate (among fans, DC obviously knows). Anyway, I dug Countdown, but I don't think everyone's paying attention to the time skips when they read it, which is causing their confusion re: superhero community's reactions to BB's "bad feeling."

And how could you not dig Batman, Darien? Wasn't it great seeing
Jason Todd
get his revenge? :D

And he did it the same way the joker did it to him. Countdown sold out on me by the time I got to the store, and to add insult to injury, I wound up buying the limited edition Astonishing X-Men #8 instead of #9. I stood in the store thinking, looking at both, thinking which cover to get, and I fucked up.

I don't know shit about shit
ASTONISHING #9 - that's a given
COUNTDOWN TO INFINITE CRISIS - 80 pages for a dollar? Why not?
